Hi guys, anyone know of a guide to get it on windows 10?
Wen I go on the website it tells me I have to sign up to Box which is a £4 a month subscription.
Need it to download and save my map. I already have the Android version on a phone but can’t download a map that way.

  2. Presume when you say download you're talking about saving the map from your bikes ECU?
Not sure what bike were talking about but I thought all the later ecu's can only communicate with TuneECU via Bluetooth and it's not possible to transfer the map from the bike to your device.
So do you have a modified map in the bike already?
If not you can just download the standard maps from TuneECU.

Thanks for the response. No I needed the software onto the laptop.
The actual site directs you to a site you have to subscribe to but I may have sorted it by going to the lonelec website. I say may have as I have tried linking it to the bike yet as not had time. Yea I have a custom map of which I wanna save to a USB stick and get the official Triumph map to see if it’s the map causing my issues, as the tech that had it has run loads of diagnostics and can’t find anything so reckons it might be the map.

  4. Firstly are we talking about a pre 2013 bike where you can use a cable?
If the standard map has been modified using tune ECU surely whoever did that should have saved a copy or should have the original?

Sorry, yea it’s an 09. And it was mapped by T3. I wanna save the map and put the official map on to see if it sorts my low idle issue. If it does I’ll leave it. If it doesn’t then I’ll put their map bk on using TuneECU and start the faff with the manual idle adjuster.
But I was struggling to get TuneECU onto the windows laptop.
I was using it with an android phone and Bluetooth OBD2 before, but you can’t save maps with that.
I have a lonelec cable now and used their support page to get the software. Was much easier than the TuneECU page but I haven’t tried it yet. Will do tomorrow eve.

  6. I imagine this is a stupid question but would t3 not give you a copy of the modified map, after all you've paid for it.
Or if they won't release the map tell them your bike was in the dealers and they've reloaded the standard map by mistake and they might reload the custom map if they still have it on file.
I'm a bit old school and was brought up on Windows PCs, sometimes I think this move to to small Android devices touchscreens and so on is a backward step, probably fine if you've been brought up with them but I find them really restrictive sometimes, I've lost count the number of times I've said that would have been much easier with a PC or a laptop, even while I'm using Google speech to text or typing this on my touch screen.
I'm not sure the windows version of tune ECU ever worked on Windows 10, I know when I was using it I was still on Windows XP:D
Have you not got a friend or relative with an old laptop tucked away anywhere.
I don't know how exstensive the mods are on your bike and how much difference the t3 tune made but if all else fails and you have to reload the standard map you could download a custom tune from power Commander to suit your mods and create your own custom map in tune ECU, I'm in the middle of doing this myself on the Thruxton R.
Obviously you should at least do a dyno run afterwards to check the afr which I suppose is more expense.
Sorry I can't be more help.

Yea maybe. Unfortunately it was about four year ago they mapped it and it was a custom map using the dyno work.
Been having issues since so gonna see if this works

  8. Hey, where are you from?
Someone local may be able to help

All done, turns out it is a piece of piss when you go on the lonelec website and just follow their instructions.
I downloaded the map and stored it on a USB.
The only odd thing was I couldn’t highlight the o2 sensor when I imported the map.
Is there a way you have to go about doing that? Say if I wanted to re-instate it?

So it worked for you on windows 10 laptop then as I need to get mine hooked up to tune ecu asap.

Yes pal. Easiest way was to go to the lonelec support page and download the software from there

  12. Just got my OBDLINK LX so I can now download maps to the Daytona and the Thruxton.:D

Not planning any fuelling or ignition changes to the Daytona at the moment as it runs great and already has the the map for the arrow can, may play about with the exhaust valve opening instead of just disabling it completely.
Unfortunately the current map in my Daytona is obsolete 20821 and is not on the tune ECU website so I'll have to use the updated map which is 21104, I'm curious to know what the difference is but it should be fine as this is the map that triumph would load anyway if my bike went into the dealers.
There's a lot more scope for changes on the Thruxton not that it's slow at the moment. Firstly I'll be making changes to the throttle maps in the riding modes, leaving rain as it is, I've copied sport into road mode because that's the default setting it goes to when you switch on and it'll save me constantly having to switch to sport mode. I've turned sport mode into more of a sports + mode with a much faster action throttle response with just a slight softening of the first 5% at lower engine revs for pulling away, this won't be my everyday riding mode just when I'm in the mood.:)
Triumph haven't released any upgraded maps for the Thruxton for things like slip ons so I am planning on making some fuelling and ignition changes for my bike which has a decat and Vance & Hines without baffles.
There are power Commander files available for bikes with similar mods that I can import into tune ECU to modify the fuel and ignition tables, if I do that I'll probably give it a try on the road and if I feel the gains are worthwhile I'll be taking it to a local dyno to at least give it a power and AFR run to make sure it's within safe limits.
There are also three ignition maps for first ,second and third to sixth gears (same as the Daytona), might try copying the 3rd to 6th map into first and second gear to see if it makes an improvement or not.

Now if I could just modify the weather map:(

Hey guys more questions on TuneECU. So I went and got a map loaded on from a Triumph dealer, yesterday.
It’s now throwing an EML light due to the exhaust valve not being there.
So I have the old map on a USB which I’m going to upload, so:
Is it as simple as loading the map up from the USB connecting to the OBD2 and hitting the upload button? Once complete do you need to do anything after?
However first I’m thinking of looking for the full arrow system map on TuneECU to see if that solves the issue.
    Is there one?
    Can these maps be trusted?
Again are they simple enough to download?

Fwiw I always save the map on the bike before I start altering anything or changing the MAP.
Also imho it's a wise move to have an Optimate (or similar) connected, so the bike's battery can't suddenly fail on you halfway through.
Yes, it is as simple as uploading, & I've not come across a MAP that wasn't to be trusted so far.

  15. On my Android version of tune ECU the exhaust valve is disabled by swiping across to the map and then selecting parameters and then devices, you can select or deselect the exhaust valve, SAI and O2 .
I presume you would have to then save the map and download it to the ECU.
I would imagine you would still need a servo buddy to override the hardware fault but I'm not sure as I still have my exhaust valve.
Yes maps are easy to download from TuneECU, my Thruxton is running one at the moment.
I think you're supposed to do an adaption after downloading the map, not sure if you can just press adoption in tune ECU or you need to do the 12 minutes idle, I did both. You can see the O2 sensor short term fuel trims relearning at idle, I imagine it finishes the rest of the adaption process when you ride the bike.
Like StMarks said, best to to disconnect any lights you can and have a charger plugged into the battery before you download, I think it tells you as much in tune ECU before you press the button.
Don't quote me on this but from what I've read even if the download fails halfway through it's not the end of the world you just repeat the process.

Ok sounds good. I did an adaption before taking the bike to get this other map on as was trying to sort the issue out that way.
Question though, when you do the adaption in the sensor reading page (android) there is an idle adaption %. Does this mean the percentage it’s adapted or is it annotation of how far along it’s finished it’s adaption process.
I only ask as wen I did my adaption my bike was running for an hour and only got to 20%

  17. When I did my Thruxton yesterday despite leaving it until the fan switched on and then 12 minutes after, the idle adaption percentage was blank, can't try on the Daytona yet as it's still in the house:D
These are the instructions on the tune ECU website for the Android version though

Reprogramming of the ECU (WithTuneECU for android):

    In Map Screen

    • The map to download is opened and displayed in the screen.
    • Select your ECU type (menu "ECU"--"Select")
    • Ignition ON but motor not running, connect to the bike (menu "ECU/Connect")
    • Then do menu "ECU/Reprogram" and valid the 2 warning messages.
    • If the map is not compatible with the ECU, you will get an error message.
    • The process can take 5 to 25 min, depend of the type of ECU
    • If the reprogramming was successful
    • Valid the message "Turn ignition OFF (5s) and ON again" wait for reconnecting.
    • Go to the Dashboard or Tests & Adjustments screen (swip screen to right), you have
some actions to do after the reprogramming.
    • Go in menu "Tests & Adjustments" and click on the "Adjustments button"
    • For Triumph (ECU Keihin) select "Reset Adaption" and execute.
When done, start the motor and let it running at idle for 15 min without touching the throttle.
Stop the motor after the 15 min.
    And also this:

Reset Adaption Keihin only - Triumph models (not applicable for Sagem models):
After downloading (Fig. 12), a reset of the adaption is required.
Turn off and on the ignition, wait ten seconds and turn ignition off again.
Now turn on the igniton again.
Wait until with the connection re-established with TuneECU proceed :-

    <Menu> ECU Reset Adaption
Then start the engine and let idle until the “TPS” status indicator (in the status bar) changes to green (after 15 to 20 minutes).

I'm not sure but I think the TPS status indicator is next to the connection indicator at the bottom of the screen, so I'm not 100% sure I've done mine properly even though it's running ok. I know it takes forever for the engine to get warm enough to turn the fan on in this weather:(

I need to make a slight tweak to my throttle maps so I'll be downloading it again shortly and I'll probably try the adaption as shown above

cheers for the run down. Just need to get the old mans laptop bk now and do this all again.

  19. Downloaded another map to the Thruxton today, this time with fuelling and ignition changes to make best advantage of the decat and slip ons, it was done by a member of the triumph rat forum initially based on power commander maps with multiple tweaks on a dyno.
I've also done further changes to the throttle maps in the three riding modes.
The bike feels a lot stronger especially mid-range but only had chance for a short test ride in between the rain:(

It's a definite improvement over the standard map so I'll be leaving it in and booking a session on a dyno as soon as possible to check the AFR and so on.
If I get some dyno results I'll probably do a thread in " other bikes", may be useful for people who are new to tune ECU.
