Anyone going? Tickets £20 in advance, £25 on the day Or In advance with a disc lock £25 Parking £10 in advance, £12 on the day. Show runs: 16-24th November
We have been every year, not sure what new bikes are going to be on show this year though. It's always a day off work (I tell them I'm taking customers )
I can’t do a weekday and the first weekend I’m doing other stuff. So, if I go it’ll be Sat 23rd or Sun 24th undecided tbh, just thought I’d ask, see if people still go, not been for about 4 years, make that 6 hehehe
You am de best, can I order a yard of sand, 24 rows of bricks and an orange mixer please? I’ll sign at the show, in cement hehe xx
Im thinking of going, quite expensive though when you add up tickets, parking and fuel costs. it worth it?
It isn’t cheap for what is in effect one big advertising campaign, but get a car load of mates to share the fuel/parking costs and I do think it’s a good day out for a biker - not sure if I’d take the family though and wouldn’t go every year - but there are some tempting new bikes being released this year - Ducati V2 looks great and I’m hoping the Italian Vins 2-stroke will be doing some dyno runs If you’re going, make the most of it and get there for doors opening - head straight to the demos area and book on for what you fancy. I had a go on the trail bikes and did the bmw gs “experience” where they taught how to lift fallen bikes/walk around holding the screen and change a tyre. Better to be all done/knackered by 3pm than to be still walking round as they’re turning the lights out I met and chatted to Neil hodgson, Steve Plater, Nick Sanders (Triumph/R1 round the world) and the equally batty/amusing Austin Vince of mondo enduro fame To see bikes (not the latest) and get close to the stars I’d go to Goodwood - met Agostini, Roberts senior, Leon Camier, McGuinness and the bikes going up the hill beats sitting on any static display - but that’s in the summer so this is a good winter jaunt
Is it worth it, probably not, but it is a day out. For me it’s: £20 ticket £10 parking £60 fuel £10 coffee and cake So £100 mmm, really? I’m thinking I’d rather spend £100 on something else. Plus the deals aren’t as good as they used to be, your often better buying online with distance selling regulations and sending back wrong sizes etc. Just a view. . . I still might hehe
Bikes and anything to do with bikes is expensive. Make money, Spend money that’s my motto these days. There to be enjoyed. Will be there Saturday 23rd with a few mates.
Love the new panigale V2 that would be on my shortlist along with the new s1000 xr but pity I cant make it over. I went with some family members last year who arent as die hard as myself and they got bored after a while where as I didnt haha.
Imho it's the perfect place to try on various makes & styles of helmet, to identify which ones suit your shape & which don't. Last time I went I was in the market for a new lid, and it saved me buying my previously preferred choice (which it turned out wasn't comfortable for me) as well as a substantial reduction in price on the one I did select.
