I'm hankering for a 250 stroker and have narrowed it down to these 3 but I'm open to opinions too...
(Ah the smell of Castrol R)

  2. NSR-250 and the HRC de-restrict card :)

So Hitech for its time :)

  3. Aprilia for me. Had a 125 and loved it.

  4. NSR for me cracking bit of kit.

  5. RD 250. Redolent of a time and place.

  6. The RS would probably be the best bike to ride, but the NSR far more exotic :)

Kawasaki H2 750 triple, the ultimate "bite you in a heartbeat" stroker, lust barely covers it. However Mark's choice of the RD250 comes a close second (Blue ladder tank, disc braked version for me).

It's the earlier coffin tanked ones I like, the LC's are quicker but ugly IMHO.

    A good example.

Classic block colour scheme too - very nice mate

  11. Yep, that will do. Thick grease in the swingarm bearing nipple to get it through the MOT. Horrifies me now but it seemed routine then.

  12. Too true, a genuine 'hairy chested' bike.

Had a GS750 that had sealed swingarm bearings, they fell to pieces within a year of me getting it, got decent bearings from the local bearing supplier and drilled & tapped the swingarm for a grease nipple, never any more bother. ;)

I cut my teeth on a RD 250 Dx.
Then got the X7 when I wrapped in round a cortina.
    Great days

NSR 250 MC28.... One of those things tingling between your legs and bouncing off the redline while going round corners like its on rails is almost as good as getting home from a ride to "find the missus trying on her stockings and suspenders".

  16. RGV for me, followed swiftly by the Aprilia. One of the first engines I tried and lusted after. Can't go wrong with any of them though.

  17. The RS is the best bike there, full power and tbh the best all rounder (brakes, suspension). However there is something really special about the MC28, if u can get one with the derestricted card, it's worth a lot.

  18. Honda for me it looks lovely.
