I've already bought the Stebel Magnum, but that Denali SoundBomb is noticeably louder. Hey Jay, can you keep us updated here on this thread when you get a reply from Twisted Throttle please?

I don't want one....first thing IAM tells you is not to use the horn.....don't think I've ever used mine?? Actually, it's prolly not the first thing they tell you....they say things like "There's coffee over there" and stuff like that...but you get the idea.
I hardly use the horn anyway....So I must be a fucking god on the road.... The Horn is just to, well. How can I say.... let the twat who just pulled out on me or anything of a dangerous nature that they thought was ok!!! To Let them know OI YOU!!!! YES YOU TWATTY!!!
i don't think I've ever heard that in the iam. Are you confusing it with them saying you should never use your brakes? The point being that with sufficient observation and planning you should not have to resort to the horn, or brakes.
Nope.....but I was referring to the car side of things....and to be fair may have gotten mixed up with the Police high-speed course....that one goes a bit further than the IAM. Regardless, I just don't use a horn....or only rarely.
Wouldn't it be great if the horn switch allowed you to vary the volume by pressing harder for a louder sound. Sometimes you really need a loud blast, when the muppet ahead decides to switch lanes just you are alongside, but one that loud is a bit too much for most of the time IMHO. Before anyone says a horn is unnecessary and it's all about planning, a horn is an audible device for warning other road users and the IAM and ROSPA do NOT say you shouldn't use your horn. D41 - Proper planning of your ride to avoid the horn at all cost, taken out of context, will endanger yourself. Imagine riding along a road and seeing a pedestrian, with headphones in, about to cross the road without looking ...... Let's avoid the horn and stop instead.....pointless and dangerous. You stop unexpectedly, for no apparent reason, the bloke behind in his car ( who is never as observant as you) either hits you or sounds his horn and slams on his brakes, maybe he then gets rear ended. Net result, disaster or annoying other road users because you think it's somehow wrong to need your horn. There's a reason you are required by law to have one, a little bit of thought and knowledge of the Highway Code is all that's needed.
Good points....but a bike with a daytime MOT isn't required to have one??? I'm not against them by any stretch....just as I am not against a rear brake...but I don't use that either....just preference, that's all.
the use of the horn came up on my driver awareness course, and i said i rarely use mine, count on 1 hand how many times in a year! even though i filter 40 miles a day. one of the lecturers said he used it at least 15 times a day to make people aware of him i queried why he needed to position himself such that he had to do that, surely he must be putting himself at more risk than necessary. he couldnt answer, except to dismiss me by saying he was involved with rospa and iam and had been riding many years, as if to say be is right because im the one on the course and he is the teacher. didnt rate his attitude much after that either
Sounds like a very aggressive style of riding, must piss off lots other road users, not part of IAM or ROSPA teaching. I would have said to him that he needs to seriously review his attitude to other road users and style of riding if he needs to use it that often. Then probably complained about the lack of awareness he was showing. Guess you don't have any choice on those courses.
Agreed it is a little steep, especially when you include the fact the wiring is the same price ontop almost... but I bet it sounds Effing A
