I'm sure I speak for quite a few of us - I kinda miss his lively posts on here :D Just wondering why he doesn't come on here much anymore? Does anyone know what he's up to? Wish the guy well.

sometimes got excited but he was right with a fair few of his opinions
there are a few more oldder posters that seam to have stopped posting aswell
this is a forum and we all have our own views and opinions thats why forums work if we all had the same thoughts there wouldnt be any discussions

  7. Shame he's not around anymore, his post on exhaust noise levels for track days was epic, that's what brought me here in the first place.

  12. Morning All -

Thanks for the concern I am very much alive and well. Lots of updates from me obviously I took the plunge and got married and I am very much enjoying married life. Still riding in and out of work everyday so if you see a 64 plate black and red STR maruading up and down the A13 giving Audi drivers and white van drivers grief that will most likely be me.

I was persuaded by my wife to try an avenue of biking that I never even considered going down before and I must say I was delighted that she proved me wrong. Back in November my wife and I took out some Harley's for a test ride I was on a Breakout and my wife was on a superlow. I have to say I was wrong I really enjoyed the ride and the noise is just something else they are very comfortable machines to ride. Plus it's always been my wife's dream to own one so being the nice husband that I am I sold my BMW and my wife chopped her bike in and I bought us both his and hers matching Harley Davidson 883 Superlows complete with Stage 1 tuning that consists of Screaming Eagle K&N air filters an ECU tune and Vance Hines Short Shot exhausts the noise is just deafening. That wasn't my sole reason for changing at the time I wasn't using the BMW much and was getting fed up of all the attention it attracted from the Police I only had to fire up my akrapovic race system and suddenly bacon was draped all over it every 5 minutes. So to compensate I got myself a 2014 Triumph Street Triple R with all the extras going for it to use as a commuter and it really is a lot of fun to ride. I know I will get bare shit for everything I have ever said about Harley's but I am man enough to admit I was wrong and they actually really suit me and my temper.

Here I will site a prime example of how useful it has become to me, my wife and I were out for a Sunday ride when some dickhead in a vauxhall astra who didn't want to wait behind my wife, me and a rather large transit van in front so he decides to drive down the centre median kicking up all kinds of shit in his wake. Included in this was a large stone that hit me in the throat which, pissed me off so I took off in hot persuit and let me tell you these bikes are no slouches and can really move when they have to that combined with the roar coming from the exhausts as the v twin lumbered into life. I caught up with him at the roundabout and was surprised how quickly these things can corner even though I was grinding my toe pegs the Astra driver conceeed he wasn't going to get away and immediately pulled to the side and wound down his window. By this point I was seething and about ready to give him all the abuse under the sun but before I could utter a single word he was almost in tears saying how sorry he was. I decided to let him go given that he had learned his lesson and hope that in future he decides to think more carefully before driving erratically.

My Wife also experienced a nasty accident on her GSXR shortly before we sold it whilst she was filtering some bellend in a white van decided to open his door on her as she was approaching a red light. Fortunately she was not going fast roughly around 10-15mph no more however it was still enough to cause 2400 worth of damage to the front end of her bike and we sat up the hospial for 6 hours later that day she is currently under going physio to the injury sustained to her shoulder. Now what really pissed me off here was that she was knocked into the side of another white van and both drivers of both vans got out and proceeded to have a go at my wife saying she shouldn't have been there etc. Fortunately the bacon defended her and said it was perfectly legal to filter. Fortunately for the van drivers they had both vacated by the time I arrived on the scene as they would've had both their heads taken clean off whether the bacon was there or not no law in the land that would stop me from protecting my wife. She is however making an excellent recovery and the bike was fully repaired and inspected before we traded it in.

But as you will see I now have a new hatred of white van drivers and will continue to give them as much shit as I possibly can whenever I see one in the hopes that one day I will run into the dickhead response for my wifes accident and then I will take a personal interest in seeing him suffer.

Other than that been keeping well planning a huge road trip to Spain in May so that should be great fun and I also have my eye on a new R1 as well just waiting to see some more reviews and getting a test ride sorted on one when dealers finally get them so I can see what the crack is before I make up my mind. The choice is between the Ducati 899, Yamaha R1 2015 and BMW S1000RR 2015 but so far I'm leaning towards the R1 I miss that crossplane thunder hehe. I hope everybody here is well and staying out of trouble or at least smashing shit up as only we know how?

  13. ^ Mate I've heard much about your entertaining posts and well, after reading this, it's all true :) :) :)

    Hope Mrs GMF is ok.

    Cheers, Damian

  14. Cheers dude I aim to please. Yeah she's much better thanks mate shook her confidence a bit but that's natural she will be back to her old self in no time just watch out for those white van drivers buddy.

  15. Good to hear from you gmf. Can we add vauxhall drivers to the hated list now.
Married life is great especially when these come along.
