    Hi,

I'm struggling to fit a new Stator to my 2010 Steet Triple.

The issue seems to be the cable that runs from the Stator unit to the grommit. The three wires are sheathed in an outer casing and this makes it very hard to locate the wires into the small groove inside the alternator housing as it's quite narrow.

This has the knock-on effect of bending out the aluminium clip that holds the wires in place causing it to catch the spinning alternator?

The stator is an Electrex World one. Are other brands the same? Could I safely remove this sheath?
    Any other ideas anyone?

Am missing riding the bike but I do have the Daytona still so lifes not all bad! :)

I think the sheath on mine ended before the grommet. It was a genuine triumph one though. If you look at my CPS thread there are some pics

I'll take a look thanks. I did manage to get the cable in (sort of), it's no longer catching but the bike will only run without the stator plugged into the 3 pin socket that goes to the reg/rec. As soon as it's plugged in the bike stalls!:rolleyes:

Really confused now. The output from the stator looks OK. Might have to give in and take to a bike electrician...

I ended up cutting the plugs out on mine, the plugs were dirty and a little melted. Runs sweet as a nut now

Plugs look OK. Anyone recommend a good bike electrician in Lancashire?
