as above been looking at these helmets and quite like the plain gloss black gp version.

My Agv Pista Gp R is driving me mad with wind noise so im thinking of maybe changing even though I love it, but theres not alot i want to replace with except maybe this shark:

Anyone have experience is it quiet?
I had a shark rsr2 and it was really quite and stupidly sold it cheap never had wind noise.

    Help appreciated :)

  2. Have you tried earplugs? I love my Arai but without earplugs I can only last about half an hour before I get a thumping headache.

They also work brilliantly for blocking out the other half's "dinosaur scaring".

  3. Has a certain Death Star feel about it don't you think?

Definitely would wear it and go about telling people that “I am your father!”

Hogster - try plugs, it's a race lid after all, it isn't a touring lid. I can't imagine the Shark being much different. Think you are expecting too much from a racing inspired lid

Haha yea has a hint of darth in there somewhere :p.

I have tried about 6 different sets of plugs nearly everything except custom ones.

I think the helmet is a little to big for me and that doesnt help, fits me but should be a little tighter. I had a shark rsr2 a few years back which was a race style helmet too and had no wind noise so hoping another would be the same.

It's not a Darth Vader lid, no way....it's like the helmets those guys are wearing standing by the massive fcuk-you laser beams..."The Death Star is now in range!"....right at the moment Luke takes his shot & saves everyone.

    Yessssss!!
Now that's what I call a proper bike helmet.....it's comes with a tinted visor as standard, pro-chinbar & drool-pan, full aero package, bike-to-bike comms., etc. That's frickin' ace!!

    500 Credits + tax.

Depends what sort of money you have to spend. If you want a cheap fix then buy custom ear plugs for your current lid in my opinion

Glad to see some one else finds this helmet rather appealing haha.
The helmet was ordered last week from Helmet city and I now have my AGV pista GP R up for sale, I really love that helmet looks unbelievable and sexy carbon fibreness but its more track focused and I only really need one helmet.
I did try newer shure earplugs with triple flange tips and they did help but still not as much as id like.

    Will update when helmet arrives.

Also where did you see it for £500, the cheapest I seen was £579

I was joking about the price mate....once the conversation turns to Star Wars I tend to go off on a tangent...

I use one of these! Its very quiet when the visor is down. I managed to pick up the Zarco version from Mega Motorcycle Store in Swindon for £499. Comes with a very nice bag and also a spare dark race visor. Quality is excellent however they do come up small. I'm a M 57-58 in AGV, Suomy and MX helmets. I'm a L 59-60 in the Shark though.

Cheers for the details Adam, I was like you and ordered the medium after trying the standard Race-R in shop but the GP version came up smaller, sent back for an exchange for the Large visor. Do you find without pinlock it fogs up or is ok? I seen megamotorcycle store has for 499 on their ebay too.

I haven't had an issue with it fogging up. The coating seem to do its job. Just don't wipe the inside if its wet, because if its anything like the Oakley anti fog they use in ski goggles it will smear an ruin the visor.

One thing I did find is that if you have the chin vent open and tilt your head down you do get a buffeting noise if you're not below the screen. Closing the vent stops the noise! I only found this out because my road bike is a Grom and you're still exposed to the wind in a full tuck position, which I'm in 90% of the time!

Be sure to clip on the extra wind protection as it helps with the noise and also with the cold air!
