That's a nifty looking rear shock 0S2, I don't recognise it. How does it perform please.? Oh, & with no trimmed down sprocket cover in place, have you adapted the above setup to protect your bypass hose yet.?
The brand is Bitubo and came on the bike with matching front suspension. It's an ex TT bike and is very nice with lockwire everywhere. I bought it to part out or sell complete, not sure yet. Here's the fork tops.
340 mile round trip to have the bike serviced by the legend that is Clive Wood. Very thorough going over...and extremely good value. Brilliant for all triumphs....and if like me and you're a mechanical novice, he'll talk you through the jobs he does. Highly recommended. Free tea/coffee and bacon sandwiches while you wait.
Bike looks great and in the best colour, where did you get the smaller techspec tank pads and how do you find them? What work did you get done on the service?
Thanks @Hogster The techspec came from Speedycom which is an Aprilia dealer somewhere near Manchester. Just checked....they still have them...in the sale! They work well for me but I use mine for touring Europe not track work so others will know better. What I will say is they don't destroy your leathers or leave glue all over them, which was my experience with stompgrips! I'd recommend them. Was there for 5 hours but two of those were spent learning how to do various tasks. Oil and air filter, oil, coolant, brake fluid, every nut and bolt torqued, brakes checked with pads out, etc. Really useful day....and top value. Learnt lots.
@SW73 are yours the snakeskin (SS) or the High Fusion (HF) version? The HF version is on special for £20 just wanted to check.
I had the longer SS version and dont like how the cover up the whole tank. The smaller Dave Moss edition are £63 and the HF appear to be on sale for £19 big difference in pricing.
I have the HF. Work perfectly for me. Whether the ss would be better for hanging off the bike I can't say but seems likely. I really like the HF but I guess it's horse's for courses. At £19...seems like a bargain to me.
Understand if it comes down to money but maybe buy the General Sheets and make your own sizes, viola Better value too as they include a centre pad
Didn't sell it after all... The guy couldn't insure the S1000RR for annual premium less than the price of the bike!
Ah I remember we finished up there on my very first Fest back in 2011. Some cracking roads around those parts.
Taken it out for an afternoon off work - to get my bloody horn fixed at my tame mechanics, ready for its mot and it’s sunny and warm outside...
Turns out the loom needs coming out, so got this sexy 1990’s beast on loan until it’s ready to collect tomorrow - felt like 44teeth budget bike challenge riding it home - although “the couch” did send a nice fuzzy vibration through the seat
