Just added this thread to my 'watch list' as I have a feeling it's got some legs / entertainment value along the Brexit lines (remember Brexit) "Listen to the scientists" seem to be ringing around my head if anyone can recall the source of that soundite?
With hindsite, I imagine you'd be able to say that the vote for brexit was a pre-emptive attempt by the UK to self-isolate ? I'm not aware of the quality of the public healthcare system in Sweden, but your neighbours in Norway would seem to have their "fingers on the pulse".:
Another regurgitated link/fact, how about some of your opinions and thoughts instead of implying what other are thinking / saying!
I don’t know anyone who’s bulk bought (or admits too it) and yet I can’t get a toilet roll in any local shop! So.... who are these morons? Are they Honda owners?
I bought stack of rolls and going to stamp the word 'Corse' on them, should make a killing I reckon. Take my money!
I’ve stockpiled on Smirnoff, Captain Morgan, Stella, barrels of Shiraz, Smash and Hot Dogs. Not risking doing a dry quarantine here It’s very real, it’s happened elsewhere around the world already (I was in Melbourne the day they abandoned the F1/saw all the cruise ships lined up in Sydney Harbour/planes on the tarmac at Doha) and it’s happening here in the UK now - my work is 100% from home now, our school here will be shut before the end of the week (just judging just by the amounts of kids self excluding already), all kids clubs are formally cancelled - the mandatory lockdown will follow shortly. Get your booze/food in while you can - can’t eat/drink loo roll. And make sure you have fuel in the bike - safest place to be might be out on the road
Someone I know got talking to one of Curry's sales staff today, he said you wouldn't believe it but they usual struggle to sell 2 chest freezers a week, recently they have been selling 30 a day. ffs what the hell . It really does bring it home to you that we are living in a society that is so self centred. It does make me wonder how we got to this.
Before BoJo did his little pep-talk, my thinking was.: Now however,,,,,, ,,,I'd add to that Ride out alone. Have a "valid destination" ready in case you are challenged. Hth.?
Just a couple of questions if there is a medical person on here Charlie has got this virus which is very contagious and with Carmella not more 3 feet away why has she not got it because that contradicts everything they have said about keeping away from people, and the other thing is why do they not say about the people who recover, I think right now its has been a 100 days south Korea are a week or so in front of us with its lock down they have 9,670 cases and have got 4,144 recovered today we have 11,600 and only 135 recovered how can this be so different from other countries when we have suppose to be the best health service in the world. Don't get me wrong all the doctors and nurses are bloody amazing.
They were both tested...Camilla tested negative, and although Charles tested positive, it was assessed that his condition is unlikely to worsen. I'm guessing that those people who's job it is to "manage" the couple's public engagements etc. feel the risks involved are minimal. It's not like they're not together all the time when they're at home, is it?
The staticians will have a field day when this is over crunching the number to see which countries tactics were the most successful. Even within Europe there are differing degrees of restrictions and here in Sweden there are minimal as shops, bars, cafe's etc are still open. A number of the larger international companies have implemented working from home but life is very much normal here - so far! Interesting read this morning about the divisions within the EU as the poorer countries who are experiencing the higher fatalities are asking for financial help and it's not going down well with the small number of wealthier ones.
Fwiw my reply, whilst intentionally light, was intended to be on point Hogster. No potentially fatal virus is "a joke" imho, but that shouldn't stop us trying to keep a positive approach, should it mate.? Nonetheless if my "trench humour" offended you, I apologise. Imho the long term economic implications of the steps taken to manage Covid-19 are going to see some considerable shake-ups. Anyway, apparently the Nitrogen Dioxide levels in China are 30% lower than normal Human Society: "There's no way we can shut everything down in order to lower emissions, slow climate change & protect the environment.!" Mother Nature: " Here's a little virus, go practice.."
@StMarks that wasnt aimed to you at all man just a general statement so many people thought sure its just a flu type virus and not taking it serious thats why so many countries are on their knees. Some of the videos ive seen sent to me lately is like aomething straight from a horror. Tbh i think its like a bad dream just waiting to wake up and its over. Stay safe guys and off the bike, last place you wana end up is in hospital after a crash.
Its brutal. Where everyone was looking forward to the clocks going forward last night, spring, the start of motogp, IOM TT, holidays etc we’re going to have nothing this year and that’s ALL down to the way it’s been handled (or not as is so often the case with “Great” Britain – when are we going to wake up to that btw?). That dithering cunt has cost this country its only chance of dealing with this sensibly and as swiftly as possible. Im finding it very hard to have any sympathy though when over half the country voted for that absolute cretin. Its such a shame theyre only waking up to the fact they might need “our” NHS at some point – something I find even more hard tp stomach when these fuckwits are clapping the NHS at their front doors when they voted tory 2 months ago. The hypocrisy/ignorance is breath taking. I suggest limiting all news and social media to an hoyr a day max otherwise it will just fill your head with absolute twaddle and fake news if you let it, the numbers theyre churning out for fucking starters. Its embarrassing. Ive already seen an applause for Boris being mooted by the usual, vacuous, facebook mums over the next couple of days. Theyre more dangerous than any virus imo. Good luck everyone and stay safe.
