Rattle Can.? @buzz675 may be able to advise you on how competitive that price is, I've never actually paid for a paint job myself.
Rattle cans soon add up, £8 for primer, £15 for colour, £8 for lacquer, £4 wet and dry, £4 compound. £40ish quid. You can get a good finish with lots of effort but the lacquer will never be as tough as the body shop 2k. I've spent 6hrs sanding and painting my Dad's trackbike lower and seat unit for an average job and £50 on paint and bits, need to spend another £20 on colour to finish the top half.
Ahh well not close enough for me to sort out. Have you been to a car body repair shop? You will need to colour match, take something with you (mudgaurd are easy to take off).
Thanks for the thought though mate! I must take it to get another quote but can't justify £100 right now
