I was generalising mate, and I goofed in my last post, I meant 12k over 2 years, but with a K&N costing twice as much as the stock filter here, and the MWR costing four times as much, it is hard for the 'average' owner to justify these things as a cost saving. High mileage riders and those that keep their bikes for a long time, they might save a bit, but tbh, I couldn't be bothered with the hassle to save a few quid over such an extended period. Each to their own..... Its interesting that Tony Scott said most of the T3 bikes run stock filters tho. I missed the event, and haven't had the chance to watch it on youtube yet.
Did tony say in the T3 video that it you run hi flow airfilter your bike will run lean which can burn out a piston. You will need a remap if you change from stock bike does not adjust. But he did say remap after any change even bike from new as every bike is different from factory and they use a generic map.
I had an mwb and I'm sorry to say I wasn't massively impressed by the way it fit (or rather, didn't fit) to it's little fixings. I went with K&N. Is there a performance different too? Oh well. Maybe I'd notice if I rode my bike faster.
I run a diffrent map for my mwr cant say i noticed a huge difference in power but im not at the bikes limits often enough to tell. If i was to buy again id get a k&n or pipercross just because of price.
6 Years old in May this year! (track use only though, and only 5k miles on the clock). Just fitted a Pipercross filter this weekend, £50 on eBay I think. Ain't going to get used though until the track next month.
I've had my Daytona since I was 38 and I'm about to turn 45 so I win!!! Seriously though...Triumph are an 'owner's' bike...no-one in their right mind lavishes love over a Honda CBR600RR.
