I'm guessing you have to, but by how much do you need to adjust the rear suspension when you are carrying a pillion passenger?

I dont adjust at all and never have done, despite being about a 50/50 split on solo/two up.

I leave mine just as it is and never have any bother. Same with tyre pressures too. ;)

  3. Depends on how fit the pillion is ;-)

Never adjust mine for my chick size 10 never know she is on till I get the punch

I once dated a girl called Ruth who I took for a pillion ride...she fell off.

    I rode on, ruthlessly.

I don't change settings but would if I could easily without having to faff about with a C spanner every time. Those remote preload adjusters look good but £130 on top of the price for an Ohlins/Ktech...nah!

I have to have mine set quite soft for my light weight so when you put anymore on it's affected quite easily and then it's horrible to ride!

i thought you just needed to change tyre pressures :?

  11. Re: Carrying a pillion passenger.

I don't even bother with that. Might be nice if I did though. Never tried.

    no neither have i tbh

only ever carried a pillion once and that was me fat bastard mate on the back of me divvy from epping to stortford

if i hit the odd pothole its down to him to hold on tight ;)

  13. Re: Carrying a pillion passenger.

My bike handled better with someone on the back. Shows how stiff the rear is normally.

  14. Re: Carrying a pillion passenger.

Often carry pillion, never adjusted anything and had no problems.

I frequently have pillion and don't really notice much difference, so therefore have never bothered changing anything. The only thing I did realise is that at night, headlights are often mistaken for main beam so i get flashed.....and they get blinded when i actually turn main beam on

  16. Re: Carrying a pillion passenger.

Probably wouldn't bother tbh unless it was a larger pillion for example.

I am lucky enough to have a remote pre-load adjuster on my Ohlins, so prob would put a 'turn' on now but never wouldn when it meant messing with the collars.

  17. Re: Carrying a pillion passenger.

On the pillion thing - it would be useful if Rentec or Triumph got off their arses and actually made a grab rail for the Daytona...if they are gonna fit rear pegs and a seat, lets at least have the option of keeping the pillion on there ... ;)

I agree with Phil. Probably wouldnt bother unless it was someone who was 'big boned'

  19. Re: Carrying a pillion passenger.

I cary a pillion a lot, i find it tames that harsh rear end. Shows how bouncy the thing is from factory but then i am only 74kg
