    1980 Ford Escort Mk2 RS2000 Custom... in Nevada Beige with Chocolate Interior.

    Looks to be in great original condition, and would be 1993cc Pinto (single OHC), 4 speed gearbox with 3.54 rear diff and 110bhp!
    If the chassis number starts with B it was built at Halewood UK, or G for Saarlouis Germany.

    Spot on, added more info then I knew about the Chassis number too
    Unfortunately it was gathering dust as my dad hadn't had it on the road since 98'.

    Leaded petrol and only 4 forward gears + the cloth recaro sports seats - how things have changed.
    He has every tax, service and insurance for it since 1980 too..!

  10. Wow. Good investment too. I guess you know what it's worth especially with that mileage

    @W_esty
    hehe...I was on the committee of the Sporting Escort Owners Club for 10 years (93 to 03).... so I did know a lot about rear wheel drive Escorts.
    My favorites were always Mk1s over Mk 2s though! ... Had 2 Mk1 1300 Sports and a concourse Mexico...wish I still had the Mex!! :(

    Kevin, what a fountain of knowledge - why didn't you tell me all this on the annual forum trip to Hickley?
    What happened to the concourse Mexico?

    Afraid it was sold yesterday, to a friend of a friend who works in the same company - it needs quite a bit of work especially underneath, would need considerable time and investment to ensure its concourse but I believe the chap is actually going to run it

    I sold it at the end of 2003 (after being very ill and unable to drive) to a bloke from the Midlands. It was stolen from him about a year later and featured in the papers. According to DVLA website it was taxed until 2010, so it must have been recovered after the theft.
    I don't know anymore than this, unless anyone knows if there is a way to find out...reg no. MVF 76L
    Pic from the London to Brighton 1995.....

    Interesting to hear Kev, maybe the new owner has it on a forum?
    Think your time of motorbikes has superseded Escorts now
