Sad to sell the Daytona but we had a good few years and he's gone to a good home and I was very excited to pick up an 899 (with some pretty mad vinyl wrap) right afterwards
Really? I think Bemsee stick them with the thousands, or maybe it's an 1199 I've seen out there with them?
Happy new Bike day mate.! Lovely little beastie you've treated yourself to there Bex. Have you ridden one on track already.?
Ooooo that's lovely! I'd be interested how it compares to the Daytona. Have wanted one of those since they came out
Thanks! Nope I haven't ridden one on track but I'm looking forward to it, got a while to wait now mind you. I've had some Ducati's before so not completely new to their character, albeit I expect it'll be completely different to what I've ridden in the past.
Lovely bike! I'm nowhere near as capable as u but I did my first trackday on my 899 at Cadwell and I did really like it, but I found it harder work than the Daytona physically, I think I would be quicker on it but I concluded that it would take me a few trackdays. It's a different character to the old long stroke twins but having been on the triple for a while it will feel quite natural, there is lots of power at the top
I think you're definitely as capable!! Was that a CSS day? I often thought of renting one of theirs for the day to try it out. I know they sell them off each year too, I enquired actually but never heard back. I quite like to buy ex-race bikes anyway mind as they come with all the good bits and if you can find a well looked after one I don't have any issues.
Hi, nope it was on the forum trackday actually, it's funny because the bike wasn't much quicker than the 675's around Cadwell, I think had I have carried more speed onto the straights it would have been but I'm just not that quick. I've learnt lots recently about mine because I didn't like the engine brake control on track, I assume if u bought a challenge bike it will have a slipper clutch fitted which the bike needs but the engine brake control just 'shoves' the bike and it's horrid so I turned it off completely on track which made it like an old school twin but made me have to think about the rear end when letting the clutch out into the bottom chicanes! I am sure u will be fine with yours as these things will be sorted on a race bike! And it will be much quicker on faster tracks where it can stretch its legs.
You may want to think about getting the termi's re-packed and fitted with baffles. I blew 103db with baffles in at Cadwell. Unless u are racing of course
