Last night my Buddies Daytona was stolen.
It was a 2006 masterbike edition.
It was all smart water marked. Also has a scuff on alternator cover and left mirror is broken.
This happened in the South East, 1066 country.
Please if anyone hears anything please let me know and also beware.

Thats not a R, 2011 was the first range of R's, and it's not a 2008 as the graphite grey wasn't out then. It either a 06 or 07.

It's missing the masterbike graphics so not sure if it relates to the recently stolen masterbike, though I can't imagine it would be hard to remove the graphics as they weren't lacquered on the fairing.

Either way, that is a dodgey advert. The seller clearly doesn't know what he/she have in their possession.

That is shit news and how dodgy do those adverts look?! Who would buy a bike without keys, logbook or reg plate?!?! The police should be paying the seller a visit but I suspect they've not got the manpower. Really fuming about this!

Hi guys, This isn't exactly how I imagined my first first post/introduction to this forum to be but here goes :(

I am the unlucky person who has had their Daytona 675 stolen last night (Tuesday 22nd of November)

FF6022 posted on the forum for me and gave me a link to the thread but after reading the responses I felt I had to sign up and thank all of you for your help it is very much appreciated!

So about the bike, it's a 2008 Daytona 675 Masterbike edition No.53 of 100 in the UK (it should be my profile picture) it's graphite grey with the masterbike decals. It was chained up and covered on my drive with a car reversed up to it so that it wasn't easy to see or move without lifting it straight over the car or wall which according to the police is exactly what they did. The police said a lot of bikes are going missing at the minute and they seem to like the 675 (I think we all can appreciate why!) they didn't make any noise (my dogs didn't even hear them) they didn't even scratch the car which must have been very difficult to avoid!

If you hear of anything then if you could let me know it would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks
    Andrew

Hi Andrew, Thanks for signing up. I'm Kent based so will be keeping a close eye when I'm out and about. Problem with bikes they're fairly easy to nick and from past experience difficult to recover. Keep us updated and if you have any pics / registration number, let me know - I'll add it to the front page of the site, and the social media channels. You never know, luck could be on your side :) Fingers crossed for a safe recovery! keep us updated either way. :)

IMG_5652.jpg Thanks Craig, I know what you mean but as you say hopefully I'll have some luck! Here's a photo and the registration number is GX08 NHK.

Ah sorry I thought maybe through the forum you'd got my number somehow and WhatsApp'd me. We must have a mutual friend as I got a message this evening about this theft from a Matt but I wasn't sure who it was.

  18. Unfortunately there are hundreds of these adverts on FB selling pages for bikes, people don't batter an eye lid, it's the same usually things 'lost keys' 'no paperwork' 'been sat around for a while' I saw a pretty new R6 with the same selling points and the kid wanted £600 for it. Some of it is organised and stolen to order and a new breed of thieves seem to be doing it to make some quick money and a cheap thrill. Got told my Dad's Street triple was stolen to order and had a buyer before it was nicked.

No news from the police yet about my bike but as you said there are hundreds of bike adverts on the FB selling pages and the people who actually buy a bike from an advert like this probably don't care where the bike came from or that it doesn't have any paperwork with it they just want a cheap thrill. Apparently a few bikes have been stolen on the same night so if they are selling them for £1000 each and they take 3-4 in a night that's a good incentive to keep doing it especially if people are queuing up to buy them so quickly.

The police are apparently keeping an eye out for it but with so few resources apart from putting it on the stolen vehicle database (not much use if they use a fake registration or have no number plate) or waiting for the smartwater marked parts to turn up I doubt that there is anything else they can do.
