Can anyone tell me if it’s wise to replace my camchain tensioner on my Daytona, it’s a 2010 / with 10k miles.

Reason I’m asking is because I’ve previously seen some comments on Facebook, and people speaking about the gen 1 and how the can chain tensioner is like cheese. Is it the same tensioner on the gen 2 ?
Thought I’d ask in here as there seems to be more clued up folks

I would prefer not to go down the manual route because tbh I wouldn’t know when to adjust / be to scared fu*#ing about with it .

I've heard the same sorts of comments, very many times.
Fwiw mine has 30k miles, albeit always very gently ridden , with std kit & no hassle so far.. (Hope I'm not tempting fate there :-??)

The MCT is fairly straightforward to adjust and there are lots of how to’s out there. My oem one went a few years back and wrecked the top end. Had no issues with the APE MCT I fitted after. Touch wood !

Yeah I’ve just watched some videos, it looks straight forward to adjust, I just would know when to tighten it.
I reckon I’ll just change out the automatic one every 10k.
What miles did yours go at ?

    Cheers

At about 8k I think. I was probably just unlucky. I didn’t have the bike from new though.

Anyone know what can chain tensioner I would need for the 2nd gen ? There’s 2 options TT675-1 or -09
