    Alright guys

I’ve recently fitted a new manual cam chain tensioner / new coolant hoses / fuel hose / new oil and filter / air filter and spark ️ plugs.

On completion of this the bike would start but sit at idle and as soon as acceleration is applied it would die. After a few goes she starts and revs but now The engine management light keeps coming on and staying on. Any thoughts ?

Could be so many things. Loose coil. Hose not connected up. Ideally getting the code would be the first step.

Have you any access to an odb2 reader ?

If not. I guess just work backwards and check all the connections and hoses. You have to disconnect many things on the way to the plugs so very likely something is loose.

    I don’t have a reader :(
I think something had thrown off the idle stepper motor.

What’s the software you are using ? I’ve only used DealerTool and TuneECU however I think most can at least read the ECU codes.

Yeah it’s tune ECU that I’ve got. I’ve kept the bike off and ignition turned on and nothing

  12. Have you got the correct lead? Not all leads are made equal and you need the correct drivers. Have you got a tried and trusted lead.

I know TuneECU is very funny about cables and drivers when using the desktop software as it’s old and not maintained now. I’ve had good success with it on the Android version using the recommended adapters

  14. Sorry can't really help with the old windows version, I had to move on to the Android version years ago with my 2013 bike, but as @Robert said it can be very finicky regarding cables & drivers etc.
Is it a Lonelec cable as they are usually the most recommended?
Is your kill switch on Run?
Did you already have that copy of Tuneecu and have you connected with any bikes previously?

I’ve a 2015 Triple so I needed the Bluetooth connection and got the OBDLINK LX (OBDLink LX 427201 ScanTool Bluetooth: Professional OBD-II Scan Tool for Android & Windows, Green https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00H9S7...abc_B17CQHG019VGA03FJQW5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1)

Bit expensive but you only have to read the Facebook page to see people with issues buying the cheaper ones.

The listing for yours seem to point it would work. Assume your bike is < 2013?

Could just be bad drivers ?

Might not be a bad shout to have a post on the TuneECU Facebook as someone usually has done exactly and has a solution.

  19. Did the cable come with any recommended drivers?
Sometimes you don't want windows to install its default drivers when it detects a new device.
Although you're probably better off asking on Facebook as I haven't used it in 9 yrs, I was also going to suggest the Tuneecu forum but the admins won't respond to questions about the now unsupported Windows version.
The Android version is available in the Play store.
If you wanted to go Bluetooth there are cheaper adaptors available than the OBDLink LX that will do diagnostics because you can't read/write maps over Bluetooth anyway on your bike, only via cable.

    Hi mate

To be honest I don’t have a clue what people mean by drivers. I have zero computer knowledge lol, I got a vid with it and just downloaded what it said. But unfortunately it doesn’t seem to work. I’m going to sit and hopefully find something on you tube later
