675.cc & T3 Racing - How to...

Discussion in 'General' started by Craig, Nov 12, 2012.

  1. I want a Daytona as well as my ST, it would be very kind of you if you could sort me out one...... :p

  2. Great idea!

I've got a manual cam chain adjuster sat on my workbench so from a totally selfish point of view I'd like you to start with that ;-)

    Cheers,
    Steve

Quick update, we didn't manage to film anything last week due to illness. Winter seems to bring the bugs. We have exciting plans to try and film something the weekend before Christmas which will be interesting whether you know how-to or not. All will be revealed. Keep your eyes peeled! :D

  4. i have the same thing aswell trying to switch between the gears at lights seems to be a pain sometimes,i dont want touch anything im going to regret doing. so id rather some help/vid on the subject on hopefully only having to adjust the clutch cable without screwing it up.
    cheers

  5. Top idea.
I think general self service vids like oils, filters, liquids, brakes and chains are the good basic ones. I get alot of my video info from youtube which is ok but it would be great to have that resource here so that it is specialised. Obviously more advanced videos would also help alot.
Can't wait is this still imminent? ?

Cheers for the input so far everyone; we are still imminent - illness delayed the filming into the new year unfortunately but we have a good schedule put together so hopefully we'll cover something for everyone. :D

Both cases are classic instances of a slightly stretched clutch cable...it's means the clutch plates aren't quite getting the contact they need to move the gears correctly, and it's more obvious at lower revs.
Just moved the cable-adjuster out a half turn at a time (counting each half turn as you go in case the cable is not the issue and you need to reset it) and see if it solves the issue...it should.

Do NOT do this adjustment on your wife's bike on the freeway going 80mph and turn it the wrong way only to see the lever flopping around and the clutch doesn't work anymore!

Well it's been some time since an update! We've filmed episode one, starting with the basics (removing wheels, breaking the chain etc...). It's now in the editing process, so we hope to have the first episode over the next few weeks. But as a sneak peek at what we've been working on, heres a picture of the 2013 Daytona 675R we've been taking apart!
