This was another of many mishaps yesterday and the fests engineering minds coming together to syphon out diesel that has no place in triple engine.
Thanks everyone for a great weekend and all the entertainment which was an added bonus. Just got back and not on drop of rain - so typical!! Still can't believe I did that with the diesel but running fine after it got flushed out so lets just pretend that it never happened
Don’t worry mate that’s nothing compared to me this weekend but as u say we provided the entertainment this year, glad you got home safe I battled through a couple of showers on the way back. Thanks Craig for organising and apologies for my off and hope it didn’t put a too much of a downer on everyone’s day.
Home in one piece. Thanks to Craig for organising and everyone else for coming along. Plenty maintenance all round now I suspect Great weekend...with proper fest weather. Happy days.
To be fair to @Rogerrabbit he came off on a particularly awkward slow blind downhill hairpin bend, in the damp, which has caught many people out. Which was made obvious when people kept picking up other pieces of bike and crash bung from the greenery which were not from his bike
You were able to get up, and ride away. There is no downer on the day with that result mate. I cut about 30 minutes out of the next section to get us back on track for lunch. If i had not done that, then i would have probably broken down in the middle of nowhere instead of at a garage 1 mile from the lunch stop, and would have been harder to go and swap bikes. So there was still some other good from it
I got home at 1pm, nice route cross country , recognizing a lot of the roads from the fest until I got to Kimbolton. Great weekend, thanks to you all for making it what it was and especially to Craig, not least for staying at the hotel with us for 2 nights while living not far away top effort!
Agreed with the above. Your little off roading stint didn't spoil the day at all as the main thing is that both you and bike came out of it lightly.
Am still sat at the garage waiting for the AA, but they are due any time now. so although i live close, i am the last one home
Bike washed. Chain cleaned and lubed and the bike put back in the garage. Again big thanks to Craig for sorting the day out and hope you get the bike sorted soon.
So apparently, the spark plug had unwound itself and was bouncing about in the top of the head, mangling up the threads. hopefully a clean up of the thread and a new plug might sort it.
Well done all and especially craig. Glad everyone looks like they had a good time and came away relatively unscathed. Crashing is def not a fest first but the diesel *ahem incident I would say definitely is lol We all make stupid mistakes though right, it’s all part of the fun (I’m told)
Thanks Craig for organising and Clyde for acting as rear gunner. An adventurous day out and a bit like previous fests had rolled into one.. a crash, a misfuel and a breakdown, combined with hot, dry and very wet weather. Fortunately we were an experienced team and could keep on to the end. Well done all, and thanks!
