Hi Crispy, & welcome to our friendly little forum
There are some very knowledgeable members who advise that this is not actually a wise approach if you want the best from your engine.

I'm also on the triumphforumuk.co.uk and I got advice to run in the engine as per Triumph's recommendation?! But, I have heard in the past (I think it was an ex-Yamaha tech) that once warm to ride as normal and use the full rev range? I think it's time for my first proper thread...

  6. I'm very much in this camp, steadily give it some - can't really recall running in car engines

That's the page I remember reading. It all seems to make sense. I wouldn't say I have been running it in 100% according to sticker on the tank....my throttle hand has slipped once or thrice ;)

It's odd how there is literally a full spectrum of recommendations when it comes to running in an engine. I suppose running in according to the book won't harm the engine but it might not release the 'full' potential.

I think it's a cracking looking bike! I was originally thinking about the SC Project exhaust (I had one on my KTM SMC briefly) but the free Arrow saved my bank account the additional bashing! I have the Evotech tail tidy fitted too. Lovely product and Evotech were brilliant to deal with. One of the indicator extension arms had a faulty thread. A phonecall and the next morning I had a replacement on the door mat.

Just ordered myself a set of New Rage Cycles indicators too.....this shite weather can get expensive!

Don't forget the Ohlins shock hehehe aimages.tapatalk_cdn.com_15_12_31_ad1f6e9e9bee8a1abb8b8ab689fcb690.jpg

I had the Arrow pipe, but it wasn't really very loud, compared to the older Low Boy, so I sold it, and bought the SC, which is amazing!

I'll tell you what, it's nice to find a forum that's busy! The other Triumph forum I started on was sooooooo quiet! My last thread I started 3 weeks ago is still at the top of the list. Now where's the Tumbleweed emoji...

  16. I'm the happy recipient of Steffydog's Arrow can! It's still a good improvement on the stock!

As for running in, I think from all the advice I've heard, the best approach is using all the gears, throughout the Rev range but not going silly!

As the Captain has posted a photo I'm going to join in!!

    Let's see yours Crispy!

I've said it before, but this is the best forum I've had the pleasure of using...

I'm on a Daytona, not a ST, but I really like the arrow..
