Hello, I bought this ex race bike 675 end of 2021 in the hopes of properly getting into track days.

Did 6 days in 2022 and just got back from first euro in Cartagena.

Really capable bike and perfect for for me to learn on. Gets quite a few days out of Michelin Cup 2s with warmers. Will do Inters next trip to Donny, so it got me out of Novice at least.

Haven't yet smashed it up on track but have been doing plenty of damage off track! Fell off the stand last year. Then a 5mph high side 50m from home whilst running it in (2 weeks before packing up for spain). Survived 3 days at Cartagena with no incidents and then skewered the fairing on the stillage when unloading it back home.

Current fairings potentially beyond repair, so looking for new track fairings, if anyone has suggestions. Ah and the oil pressure light is staying on after the stillage incident when idling (i shut it down immediately) so hopefully it's just an air bubble and i havent done serious damage.

  2. I have a brand new set of track fairings here that I would sell. Very nice quality too.

wouldn’t want to post, but if you can get to Poole (Dorset) to collect……,

let me know if they are of interest.

Welcome to our friendly little forum Trogdor, pleased you're enjoying the little Daytona.
You say the fairings are "beyond repair". I guess that is often the case but fwiw the fibreglass fairings are intended to be repairable with mat resin, and I have seen a number of mint looking ones that have been resurrected.

Incidentally that bike looks familiar, I' m sure it's been here before.

Thanks. Yes they've been repaired before and i repaired the nose and tail after flopping it over the drive. It was a hurried spray can job outside in the wind and rain as you do for best results.

I still have some fiberglass mat and resin left over but it's got a huge hole now so more involved job.

I'm not surprised it's been around, it was a 2nd race bike for a number of years, and its had decent amount of engine and suspension work. Picked up near Brands.

Sounds interesting, if you have pics please send my way. Dorset would be a drive, but could make a trip out of it.

  7. Welcome along, I have a 13+ Daytona and absolutely love it on track, currently set up with street bars like a 765 but changing it back to clip on's soon with an aftermarket fibreglass fairing. You would be surprised what you can repair on fibreglass, even big sections, if you layer it on then leave it to set and do that again a few times. I always used to cover the backside of any splits or holes with the matt and resin then when it's gone off filler the front side. Had fibreglass bumpers etc on my old drift car and forever repairing them.

Anyways, I did my first inters day at Donny a few weeks back, here's the vid if your interested:

    All the best.
