I normally use throw-away plugs thinking of getting something a bit better. Loads online range from £15-£200 (full custom moulded Bluetooth things). What do people use or suggest/recommendations of ones they have heard about. Thanks Sent from my SM-G780G using 675.cc mobile app
If you want to stick with cheap & cheerful, try Mack's slim fit slow release ones. I use them every night and for whatever bike ventures I have for about a month per pair (my ears are very clean so that's not as urghhhhh as it sounds). If they can block out Mr J's 'dinosaur scaring' then they're good enough for the bike.
I’ve got a few sets of moulded, with and without speakers. Imo the plain ones are not as good as foam plugs for noise suppression, but much more confortable. The speaker ones are better, but only if you are using them for intercom or music, not as good just as plugs.
I use Mee Audio ear phones with comply foam buds plugged into an intercom. Best way to get clear audio and no wind noise for under £40. Comply last for about a month of hard use and buy a box of 10, 5 pairs for a tenner. I also have pro guard moulded earplugs which are very good and comfortable but can’t hear audio well enough with supplied speakers.
Don’t waste your money. I had some resin cast plugs and they were useless, no seal whats. Buy disposable but reuse them as much as you are comfortable with.
I like the rubber 3M plugs....chop the plastic cable off and you're good to go. Tried a custom made pair ($$$$$!!) and found them to be a poor compromise.
I struggled badly with wind and bike noise, got a set or sennheiser with longer tips and were generally good. I’ve recently got somy xm4 in ear headphones with noise cancelling that I will try soon and see if they work under a balaclava to keep in place
Thanks for all the advice, I ended up getting some moulded ones from specsavers. They are really comfortable and can't tell they are even in. Sent from my SM-G780G using 675.cc mobile app
