Just looking at the electric bikes in MCN and it looks like they are at the moment the main contender’s to replace petrol power in the near future at least , but what gutless & soulless bits of tin & plastic they look & can you imagine riding one ? , pulling away at the lights with just a steady hum coming from a tiny motor ? the words total & shit springs to mind .
Even if they get the price right , the charge life long enough & the speed up to reasonable sum these electric bikes would still fly in the face of the whole ethos of motorcycles & biking as we think of it .Change will have to come one day and sooner than you think but hopefully not yet ,
A smart man would penitent a devise for emitting the sound of a v twin or a triple engine though a bolt on devise that looks remarkably like an exhaust pipe , so if in 20 years we are forced to ride electric ( and assuming that anyone still wants to ) you can select the sound track of your choice
Maybe someone already has a penitent for such a devise , but they would need plenty of money as you would need a few £k to submit it then about 10- 20 k per year to maintain a world wide penitent

I can't imagine sitting in a car or bike without hearing the purr of the engine. One thing is that electric vehicles can have is an amazing amount of quick acceleration, just a shame it has every noise trait of a milk float. H20 vehicles seem to be an interesting development, though still along the lines of electric :/ no gritty noise and no pollution :(

come on someone invent a time machine or teleporter so we can go for a ride in another time period and never worrie about electric bike shit, or cop & cameras , ad goverment highway robbery .

just think what the cops would think if a flight of d675 blasted past at full chatt one barmy day in 1955 , never to be see again , they would come there coco before they got there braces off ,then get the sack for drinking on duty when they re-told the tail .

we must have enough old bike bits in our sheds between the lot of us ? to make a time machine surely ?

I once got hit by a Prius 'shed' thing in a garage forecourt. Just walking across the court to pay for fuel, didn't hear the thing moving, then bump! one 6ft not very happy man on his a**e. Got straight back up mind as he was only doing about 3mph. Said a few 'choice' words to said tree hugging hippy and reminded him his choice of car is actually worse for the planet as it uses more of the planets resource to be built than it will ever save driving in it's lifetime, then got escorted off the premises by a security guard lmao.

Got a free tank of fuel out of it though ;)
