Prompted from the other thread by Biketuna, i’m looking to put together a fest weekend around Peterborough/Huntingdon area. Not too far for most to travel, but can still get a couple of nights away for a catch up. 9/10/11 July should be safe enough, and i will scope out a couple of hotels shortly so we can get booking. Have decided to go Premier Inn (as usual) at Hampton, just south of town on leisure park. Nice one for organising this. I might try and catch up with you all en route once you've got a better idea of your rideout route, but it's a fair yomp for me, especially if it's peeing down.
That’s why we pick a hotel, to split up the yomp from the main day, and do a bit of social in the evenings

Did a big chunk of the route today, fine tuning to iron out the wrinkles. Bit more to do yet. Large circular route from Peterborough, taking in a little bit of each of Rutland, Beds, Cambs and Suffolk. Main roads, back roads, nadgery little B and C roads, hopefully have a bit of everything. Need to plan out the right times and places for stops next. Good excuse to get out and about on the bike at weekends

Ok, route 99% sorted, just need to verify a couple of sections next week. @farmer1 i have included a diversion to you for a little catch up with the group, about 4:30-ish before you leave, but we can confirm on the day This is about 230 miles, with fuel stop at 110 miles, and fuel near the hotel. Let me know if anyone has small enough tank to have a problem with 120 miles and i will find another fuel stop en route. It is about 6 hours riding, with 3 stops, 1.5 to 2 hours apart. Quicker if pace and traffic is good ;-) Middle stop about 1pm for an hour for lunch and fuel, with McD, KFC, Costa, Tesco all nearby. Start by 9:30 return by 6:30 and will book a table at the attached restaurant for 8pm. Any questions
