So I bought these rearsets back in November 2021 and only just fitted them but what a difference they have made. Being 6ft 4 the Daytona never did fit me well but I was determined to not let her go and try my best to fit on the bike. the next step will be some
Clip ons. Are there any other tall riders on here who also done modifications to suit their size ?

Beautifully machined. Giamoto made great things. Seems they've stopped manufacturing now which is a shame. Excellent upgrade

They look mega - have they made a big difference to the ergonomics? I'm about the same height as you and have wondered about changing the rearsets on my Daytona.

  5. Practical AND beautiful. What's not to love about then? The red matches in with subframe really nicely.

Yes they have made a huge difference. When I first fitted them I compared them to the standard position and they was only 20mm lower so I was worried I wouldn’t notice any difference but honestly it’s night and day.

So as the weather was nice today i decided to give her an oil and filter change and full deep clean. I also got a few parts to get fitted ready for spring

Why are you changing the clip-ons? Are they higher than the stock ones?

Im changing the clip ons to give myself some more space well try to. They won’t go any higher but they are fully adjustable meaning I can flatten the bars giving me more space if that makes sense.
It will be a bit of trial and error…..

  11. Very nice, definately my favourite rearset, and always appreciate a clean bike. just needs a nice carbon chainguard to match the hugger and lose the lump of a silencer underneath.:D

Have you had chance to ride with the new clip ons yet?

Have got a new chain and sprocket ready for mine but went for a cheapo steel one this time instead of the ally Renthal. Should have ordered the black at least as the plain steel one looks a bit crap, probably going to strip the zinc plating and spray it, did the same on the thruxton although the winter salt started the job in that case.:(

Yes the carbon chain guard is definitely on the list :D and I haven’t got around to fitting them yet that’s a job I think for next weekend…. But I shall update you on how I find them…..
And as for the exhaust to be honest I have been waiting for a full system to come up on here but I been waiting nearly 2 years now lol I like the look of the Austin racing exhaust but worry it might be a bit to loud. . I need to hear one in person really.
How do you find the thruxton ? I saw one at a bike meet in a dark green colour and thought that colour really suited it im not sure if that’s a standard colour or not but looked great.

  13. I think my chainguard is from CarbonFBR but not 100% sure, probably about 7 or 8 years old now but still in good nick and the weave/colour is a good match for the standard carbon hugger.
Mine has the Arrow can which is not a full system but does away with the box underneath and sounds great, especially without the baffle and exup disabled.

Still loving the Thruxton after 3 years, such a nice thing to own, especially if you're a bit of a cleaning nerd like me, and while its different to the 675R its still a very enjoyable and surprisingly quick ride, and mines definitely no garage queen as some people assume when they see it, done 22k miles now, 15k miles in the 3yrs I've had it.
Mines just the common as muck silver ice though, not green:D

Gratuitous Thruxton pic, think this was my last ride before going away for the winter, not ridden either bike since Oct:(

Do you have to remap the bike to suit an arrow can ? and the thruxton is a lovely looking bike and very clean for 22k… if I had the money and space I’d love a second bike I can use all year round as the 675r only comes out on sunny dry days :D

  15. I'm the same, neither of mine are all year round bikes and only come out on dry days, and listening to the rain outside that still seems a way off yet.:(
The Thruxton had seen some winter use by the previous owner and its taken a lot of work to get it back to a standard I'm happy with, the odd ride in the winter which I don't enjoy anyway wouldn't be worth the effort involved to restore the finish, I think I could easily pick an all year round bike out of a line up no matter what the owner uses to protect and clean it.

There is an "Arrow" map and a full system race map I think, mine was already installed but had to update it to a newer map version to use TuneEcu, and I've since tweaked it further with Power commander "trims" to further improve the fuelling as apparently the Arrow map isn't the greatest, the trims can be loaded with TuneEcu to modify the standard fuelling tables without the need for an actual power commander.

I think all the maps for slip ons or full systems stopped around Euro IV, all Triumphs now only have one map option including my Thruxton, Mine has a decat and US spec Vance & Hines which you can't buy any more, and a custom remap again via TuneEcu.

Hopefully us fair weather riders will be out sooner rather than later, and the mods will further improve your enjoyment of an already fantastic bike.

Just need to sort out a power commander then a session on the rolling road now. ☀️☀️☀️
