Front brake pipes

Discussion in 'Chassis' started by Bryanthegoat, May 27, 2012.

  1. Hey folks just returned from my race lisence test (which i got yeeha)where i was told by the scruttineer that i really need to change the front brake pipe , basically the pipe comes from the master cylinder down to the left caliper then crosses the mudgaurd over to the right ,now he was saying that there has to be a seperate pipe for the right caliper and the split joint has to be above the bottom of the bottom triple clamp(if that makes sense)so my question is how do i go about it any quick fixes and does anyone have any pics of the job done??? :D cheers in advance :D

Hmmm...sounds like you're running a single line set-up Bryan...my 675 brake line knowledge is a bit dim, but I reckon if you get some new brake lines for a dual-line set-up and a new banjo bolt for the master cylinder you should be fine.

Mate. Well done again. Ignore what he was saying. Get a full set of race lines. Two full length from the master cylinder. I can't think of any racers that would use a split line system.

It's deffo better than standard, purely cos they're easier to route.

  9. An I right in thinking that the standard setup wears one set of pads more than the other due to the routing of the lines? I found when checking BTF's pads that they were unevenly worn and could only put it down to that?

That's right Pete. You get more pressure to the r/h than you do the left.

  11. Cools thanks Chris

  12. Ahh i always wondered why that was even contemplated swapping them round then thought dont be a tight arse so i bought a set of bendix race pads and to be honest i'm well impressed don't expect them to last as long as my old brembo jobbies but for £46 can't argue hold on i'm just going back to being a tight arse ,,,feck :D
