    Hi
Has anyone fitted one of these to their 675? I have bought one and just installed it and have problems. Fitted everything correctly I think, shift rod to correct length, wiring loom to coil plugs and earth tag to chassis. Put everything back together and bike will not fire up? Took everything apart again and disconnected harness for quickshifter, put coil plugs back to standard configurement again put bike together and fired up straight away, anyone shed any light where I might be going wrong? Any help appreciated. Thanks

  2. What model do you have mate.

I have the Hm plus ( red model ) and all wired up correctly.

Easy mistake, kill switch can be flicked. Also battery not attached properly.

Does the dash light up like normal and go through the full start up sequence etc with fuel pump priming?

I have the superlite version. Should be simple. Dash lights up, engine firing but not starting. In the instructions it says with ignition on I should get an orange light on the shifter but that doesn't light up either until I try to fire it up. Wondering if the coil plugs need to be in a set order? Will be taking bike apart again tomorrow .

When I remove H&M harness and plug original plugs on the coil it fires up 1st time. Maybe I'm missing something simple or might even have a faulty one?

Thanks for heads up on unit for sale. The wife got me the H&M for xmas so need to persevere with it. Wondering if they sent me the wrong harness as the triumph shifter plugs into the spare plug next to Ecu and the one I got sent has 3 adapter plugs for the coils

  6. You've just made me realise.
The 3 plug adapters are for if your using it on the 06-08 bike.
If you look at the hm loom theirs another plug in it to detach the piece with the 3 connectors on it.
So unplug that 3way splitter piece & now plug QS loom straight into the bikes loom where the triumph one connects.

Thanks for the input, I did try and plug the cable from the shifter into the 675 harness direct near the ecu and it didn't fit, going to have to call H&M when there back after xmas as I think I have the wrong loom. I told them it was a 2012 Daytona. The loom on the quickshifter says type 1 around the cable near the coil plugs. I'm assuming I need a type 2 or 2nd generation loom. Pain in the arse. But can now get to the air box in under 10 mins if anyone wants a new air filter fitting

  8. Lol (Air filter)

    I'm sure that loom fits,
I've had them in the past.
It should unplug mid loom & plug directly into the triumph plug.
Are you sure your trying to plug it into the right place on the loom?
As I recall on my 2011 road bike the QS plugs in just behind the frame not under the tank near the ecu.

Top man, will get you some pics in the morning and will WhatsApp you what I have. Really appreciate all the input today boys:) thank you.

  10. The shifter looms are the same from 2006-2012 mate

You have three coil plugs the go on the coil plugs first then the standard ones fit on the other plugs inline.

You have a negative that goes to the battery for the ground wire. Then a water sealed plug for the actual shifter connection.

The QS plug on the loom is for the triumph one only the HM and after market ones don't need to be fitted to the loom plug or will cancel the signals

    So to recap

3 coil plug from shifter loom to the coils. Then the standard ones fit onto the other empty plugs on each coil lead

Negative wire from the shifter unit loom ( small thin black wire with an eye connection ) to battery or a very stable ground point.

Then the water sealed connection from QS unit to the one on the HM shifter loom and should work fine.

The QS plug on the bike loom under the tank ISN'T for after market stand alone units.

    Thanks for the input sniper.
Just got home from ikea so project was postponed until tomorrow, I have tried to plug the loom that comes with the Q/S to the 3 coils that are under the air filter housing and when I did that the bike wouldn't fire up? When I plug the standard coil plugs back on it fired up straight away. This is why I thought I was doing something wrong. Wondering if I have a faulty unit maybe? Sounds like I have done everything right as I followed to the letter how you explained it. Will have another crack tomorrow.

    IMG_3067.JPG IMG_3065.JPG IMG_3068.JPG IMG_3069.JPG Hi guys
Had another go today and same result. Bike will not fire up. Can only think it's the actual shifter engaged permanently to cut the ignition to the coil. When trying to start the bike the Q/S's orange light flashes. Here's some pics of anyone can find something I'm not doing correctly.:wall:

  13. Check the actual unit sensor itself mate.

When you turn the ignition there is an LED on the sensor with the logo that flashes orange/red to signify it's working.

If that doesn't show up then it is indeed the quick shifter.

But I've never heard of a QS actually preventing the bike to fire up full stop unless it's a Bazzaz after storage etc.

  14. I can confirm that if there is an issue with the shifter itself or the loom then the engine won't fire. A friend of mine had his go at Oulton park and between sessions we had the tank off and the loom pulled out and it was good to go again.
The loom puts the shifter in the path of the current. So it works as a push to break switch, so any flaw with instalation or with the shifter unit will break the circuit and stop the bike running.
As a test I guess you could bridge the connection on the loom where the shifter would connect and then the bike would fire, or stick a multimeter on the loom alone to check it's not a dead loom.
Other things to check would be the earth, make sure it's sound. and the threaded inserts which wind into the shifter need to be solid and not have any play.

Finally got the bottom of the problem. The loom I have been sent is for the next generation Daytona. As my bike is on the cusp of the change over the loom fits both year bikes but triumph changed the polarity of the coils on the later model. Just need to send loom back then wait for a new one. Fingers crosssed. Thanks for all the input:)

  16. HM are pretty good with tech support
