I use an Interfone F4 headset. It works well with the phone and music although I do struggle to hear at high speed as the speaker just isn't loud enough! People can hear you talking just fine though, and have no idea I am on a bike.

My only issue is that the buttons aren't great - either that or I'm rubbish at operating them. So often I try to change music and I can hear the iPhone lady saying "Calling Mum".......NOOOOOOO! Frantic button pressing!

    Bit of an update!

Just called Motohaus who manufacture this headset. Apparently mine has a fault as I should be able to hear no matter what speed I am going (legally anyway!). It's something to do with an Auto adjust the unit has. The louder the outside noise the louder the unit should go. Mine stays at a constant so I can only hear sat nav and people up to say 30mph.

I bought it in 2010 and the unit is out of warranty. However, lady on the phone was great and said not to worry - they will replace anyway. Just got to post it to them and I will have a replacement within a few days.

Absolutely cannot say how pleased I am. Customer service like that is rare and they deserve a mention!!!

I will let you know the quality of the replacement when it arrives! Happy days!

How does the interphone work if you wear ear plugs to stop you from destroying your hearing. Does it just keep getting louder as the wind noise increases?

The speakers sit in your helmet in the space your ears go so you can wear ear plugs as normal. I must admit I always forget to wear plugs but when I do the system works great. They come in pairs to if you regular ride with a pillion or a mate.

I use my bike for work so it will link to my Sat Nav or iPhone and take calls. Can make them too using voice recognition dialing.....although that's only as good as the phone. My iPhone very rarely calls the person I ask it to. lol.

You can swap it from helmet to helmet and buy spares etc.

What I would say too is the battery is amazing. I have no idea how many times I charge it but it lasts for days if not weeks at a time.

    Update:

Motohaus sent a brand new replacement unit despite being out of warranty by 3-4 months.

New unit is noticeably better. Can know hold a perfect conversation at decent speed. Not tried it above 60 yet but I think it will be fine.

I use these Panasonics. They push right into the ear canal. Cost under £6

  9. Aaargh (Marine?) I was on H13, and because I went directly from a trg establishment I didnt get these. TBH most of the blokes weren't wearing them anyway because they couldn't identify the direction of a firing point because they dont give directional sound. Coy Comd wore his, but if he's identifying firing points then something's goine wrong! Didnt know you could use them for music as well. Whats the quality like?

For content, I use MM 30i's

    aimages.pricerunner.com_product_image_211795699_Sennheiser_MM_30i.gif

Perfect for the iphone, got the remote which can be operated with Alpinestars GP Pros no probs and when going at low speeds can even talk clearly enough. It's really best for controlling music though.

  10. Yeah Marine :D I was on H12 and had the original ones, and am now on PDT for H17. These are the new ones, they clip in behind the top of your inner ear and stay so much better!
The headphones aren't bad at all, considering they've only been produced to encourage us to wear them, I suppose it doesn't matter too much about the quality given that the sound is delivered right to the inner ear.
I didn't wear mine very much last tour as they fell apart and wernt comfortable. But with the headphones it gives a chance to get used to them before we go! :)

  11. i've got Etymotic Hf2 headphones, they're brilliant as they cut out ALL external noise however, i don't use them on the bike anymore as i like to hear a little bit of the traffic noise for safety reasons.

a bit pricey at £125 but i've had mine for a few years now and they're still going strong.
