Has anyone got helibars on there daytona 675 and what do they think to them? And were is best place to buy?.
Got them on mine (2010 model) was already fitted when I bought the bike but looks like a fairly straightforward swap. I haven't had any wrist ache or back ache whilst using them, done a few long (ish) trips too, 400 miles in a day. Handling doesn't seem to be affected but may notice it on track
i also love them but it will all be down to rider build im quite tall and before hand my riding position made it really uncomftorble in slow traffic and very painfull on the wrists no problem at all now but fells very different at first i bought mine off this very forum and very happy with them at the price i paid my bike is 2011 all depends on why your thinking of buying them
Wrist ache on medium & long trips due to not much movment in my wrists, ive a health problem with my joints,i don't want to sell the bike as theres nothing else i fancy plus ive spent a small fortune on it so a extra £150-200 is worth a punt.all sounds positive from you lads and i think that bit less wieght on my wrists would make longer trips much better for me,cheers all.
what are are you maybe someone close by with them fitted could let you try there bike even if its just sitting on it you will notice difference straight away
Leeds, whats got me thinking this way is because i sat on a lads bike recently 2015 daytona with fireblade bars on which felt very good as it raised the bars by around 1 inch, the fireblade bars a shorter so he had to make some small sleeves to extend them & the bracket for the resovoir was different but it all looked good.
you dont get much lift with helibars on 06 to 12 daytona but the angle of the bars makes a big difference
It turns out that the helibars from the 06-12 daytona do not fit the new shape daytona 13-15 according to bykebits so thats put an end to that, ive e-mailed helibars about if they plan to do any new bars but ive not heard anything yet.
I have Gilles variobars on mine. They go up, down, in, out, any sort of rise, lower etc you may want.
I'm pretty sure I have some 675 raised handlebars in my spares cache Shaun, if you want to try some out. I'm near Junction 38 M62
I can't remember where I got them originally, but when I've needed a spare part (you can get ell the various parts separately should you need a replacement) I used these guys. Overall the bars are quite expensive, but they are really well made and adjust any which way you want. http://www.motorcycle-road-and-race.co.uk/gilles-handlebars
Trouble,do you just have the variobars on yours or do you have the risers aswell? Cos the risers look tall,so are cables& lines long enough?.
I've got the risers as well, the reason I have them is that I'm a shorty so struggle to reach the bars comfortably and be able to keep a bend in my arm, so I've actually used mine to bring my bars forward about 2 inches. My cables and everything are ok. I do have an aftermarket throttle cable, but that's because I've got a quick action throttle, but it the one they would sell for any standard triumph, not had to make anything special
Bought the helibars from bykebitz £250,easy to fit the hardest job was getting the bar end wieghts off! I had to drill the screws to get the weights off but coudnt get the screws out untill i pulled the unit out of the bars, fuck knows what they used to fix the screws in with! Had a test ride today and i am pleased with the helibars as they are more comfy but good for throwing the bike about, were as i had to be doing around 75-80 untill the weight was off my wrists now its off at 60 so its much better, all being well i can get away for a few nites in a few weeks to test them on a long run, cheers all.
