Hottrax MG600 Knockhill 9-10 August.

Discussion in 'Bobby Campbell Racing' started by trackdaybob, Jul 24, 2014.

  1. That's my entry confirmed. I'm going home.
Not raced at Knockhill since 2012. Really looking forward to it.
Heading up there on the Thursday, testing Friday (new front suspension and gearing) then four races to get in about over the weekend.
    It can't come quick enough.

Good luck with the race in your motherland TDB, will you be taking your wets.? :p

  3. I'm up there too.... What gearing you thinking?

  4. 15-48/49 or maybe 14-45. We'll see how the test day goes.

    Damn straight

  5. I've gone for 16 front ( as only one I've got) 48 rear. Fingers crossed be ok. Same as brands gearing.

  6. That's the same as 15/45

  7. That ok? Open to suggestions on 16 front.

  8. Luke is right. 48/16 = 3.
    45/15 = 3.
Personally I think that's too high. I'll be looking at around 3.2 final drive myself.

  9. Oh right... Need to get myself a 15t

  10. Just searching now but think my 2012 R had different ratios in gearbox

Surely if you only have a 16 on the front and you have a 48 then it's fine to do that if it's the same as 15 45.

  12. Well I've a 46, 47 and 48 all on sprocket carriers ready to see which is best. Taking a 45 and 49 too. Think I'll have enough options.

  13. Van is packed. Now just sorting all my kit out.
Setting off tomorrow morning with a quick stop in at B&C Express on the way. New chain and more sprockets to collect.

  14. According to the Knockhill newsletter, entry for spectators is free all weekend.

No excuses now for not coming is there

  15. All settled in the paddock.
Oil, filter and new chain and sprockets on tomorrow morning before ACU test in the afternoon.
    So up for this now.

  16. Bit of a mixed bag today.
Dry at first which was ok but then it rained and I struggled.
Forecast good for tomorrow though so we'll see.
Now enjoying a beer or two.

  17. Not a bad day. There's not a big entry here so mixed in with other classes.
I struggled this morning on a damp track with wets on. Qualified 17th overall out of 23.
First race was hard work but managed 5th in class. Second race went much better, a better start and instantly I felt more comfortable. Lapping quicker, I managed 4th in class and nearly 15 seconds quicker overall. Managed a 55.7, about 0.7 off my best here.
So tomorrow, two races, 25 laps each. That'll be fun. Hopefully the weather will stay decent. Forecast isn't so good.
    Now it's beer o clock.

 That's pretty dam impressive, for a wet track TDB.!

Have a great time tomorrow, & keep it shiny side up . :)

  19. That was on a dry track I must point out. I qualified with a 59.4.
In race one I finished 12th overall, in race 2 I was 11th overall.
