Entry confirmed today. Off to Snetterton 300 for the Hottrax meeting. Qualifying and two races both days. Looking forward to it. It feels like ages since the last meeting.
I might be up for this. I'll give them a call, won't want to enter until after next weekend when I race at Donny. What classes you racing in TDB?
We've (Hottrax) already been but if I don't go to Oulton with Hottrax, I'll enter Cadwell with BEMSEE, they're the same weekend 13-14 June. I'm gonna see how I go at Snetterton this weekend then make a decision. I'll let you know mate.
Thanks Luke. Now all set up in the paddock at Snett. Will get signed on and scrutineering out of the way then have a beer or three
I haven't any tickets available unfortunately. Not going very fast Endurance race running now so I can relax this afternoon. Qualified 19th finished race 22nd. Lap times nothing to shout about. So I won't I'm not going fast enough to make my gearing work so I'm gonna change it for tomorrow.
Lovely day here. So far although the forecast isn't too great. Anyways I'm going better today. 17th in my race this morning but the main thing is I'm lapping four seconds a lap faster than yesterday. So I'm a little happier. Hopefully a little more to come.
Well it has to be said that's not been the best meeting for me. Made it out in one piece though. Saturday was frustrating as I didn't go well at all. It's an easy excuse but I hadn't ridden here this year. That's definately not helped. Sunday morning fared better. I went out in warm up to bed in new brake pads and see if the gearing change I'd made would help. It did. In the first race I was much more comfortable and the bike felt so much better than the day before. After a few laps though I was out on my own which although isn't ideal, it did give me a chance to try a few things out regarding lines and gear selections. It did seem to help and I brought it home in 17th. Next was qualifying for the two Sunday feature races. Again I was pretty comfortable and qualified 18th with a 2:07.5. Now this was where I was expecting to be on the Saturday but that aside it had given me something to work with. I knew where I was weak and could hopefully chip away more time. Unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity. Whilst waiting for the race it started to rain. Now it was getting to the points that wets may be needed. I tried to wait it out but my bottle crashed and the wets went on just as the rain went off and the race was called. We finished fitting the wheels and I headed to the holding area only to find it empty. Luckily (for me anyway) there was a crash on the warm up lap and whilst that was cleared up I was allowed up pit lane to join the 2nd warm up lap then take my place on the grid. Off I went out only to discover the whole track dry as a bone I came in. Fuckin pissed off is nowhere near Anyways we waited for the second race and the rain came proper. Luckily, I had my wets already fitted It (I) just didn't work though. I couldn't get going at all and was struggling to find grip. Frustrating. I was trying to push on but the thing was sliding all over the place until a rather turd inducing slide at turn three culminating with some grass tracking convinced me to just park it up at the tyre wall. That was it. Onwards and upwards to the next one. Oulton Park 12-13 June.
