Hi guys, it’s been a very long time since I last logged on here, I sold my 675 Daytona back in 2020 to buy a new R1. Thought I’d pop in to say hi.

For those who remember me, hello…… I’ve seen a few familiar names already so good to see some of the old gang still about.

For those who don’t know me, err……. Hello

  2. Hi
How are getting on with the R1, didn't really gel with mine and went back to the Daytona, still miss the noise though:bang:

sadly it was written off 10 weeks ago after I got knocked off it on my way home from work. A guy pulled out a side road on me and there was nothing I could do but hit him.

to be honest though, I absolutely loved the R1. I tracked it a bit but soon ruined that by fitted fitting a Akrapovic de-cat to it and having it mapped so just became a road bike only. It was a beast and soding loud, I’ll definitely be looking to replace mine.

Hi ERS, great to hear you're out & about on two wheels still.
Sorry to rear that, hope you weren't badly damaged yourself ??

Hello mate, long time no speak…. Hope you’re well.

Yeah I’d been loving my R1, it took a bit of getting used to after my Daytona but I bloody loved it. It was a weapon on a bike but in a good way!

Unfortunately yes a bit banged up in the crash….. my left foot took the brunt of the impact and sadly I lost the 3 outer toes and some of the side of my foot. It was a mess and the thankfully saved what they could.

I’m up and about not to a certain degree, I still can’t walk properly but am getting there. In a way I’m bloody lucky as it could have been a hell of a lot worse than it was.

Cheers pal….. yeah shame it’s gone but it’s a lump of metal and can be replaced.

    And yes, it will be!

Still trundling on thanks ERS, it's just that imposter I see in every mirror is looking increasingly ancient.!
    Ouch ouch & ouch.....

Fwiw mine's now healed fully, to the point that it's hardly even noticeable. Yours sounds considerably more serious, but hopefully you'll recover just as completely mate.

Oooooo damn, how did you do that?? Unfortunately I didn’t think to get a snap of my foot hanging out of my boot while I lie on the roadside waiting for an ambulance to turn up…..

I still look down half expecting to see them starting to grow back but alas they haven’t yet…..

I won't distract your thread by repeating the event here, however if you read the link imho it's worth it as a trip down memory lane (of previous excellent forum members). :))

Damn, just caught up……. Also noticed it was from back in 2013! Not sure how I missed reading that!
I’m glad you’ve made a full recovery now though.

Cheers Phil, yeah I absolutely loved mine and would love another one…. That said they’ve stopped making them now so would have to be a good used one and a similar spec to mine.

Anyway, good to hear from you, nice to know there’s a few of the old crew still on here.

  16. Sure am, although people don’t seem to post on here much!

I’ve got a Panigale 899 (my keeper) these days but I’ve also got a Speed Triple RR which got a run out last week at Snetterton.
