I did a search but there was only one thread from long ago but LEDs have moved in leaps and bounds since then. Wondered if anyone had experience of using H7 Led such as these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131958597192
45 watts of LED, in a tiny package.! An impressive 2000 lumens is actually more than the 1500 (ish) than you'd expect from tungsten filament technology, so if that is correct then things really are improving.! However... ... LED does not cope well with heat. I'd concerned that @ 45 watts their longevity may suffer.?
You would have to question the quality. Theres allot of crap led's on the market some even coming from names you would expect to be high quality. It seems most of it comes from china and is re branded. We install lots of led lights in commercial buildings and the rate of failures in a 12month period is scary. Moan over
I had a set of H4 led lights I bought off Amazon. They were great! But bulky though as there was a fan unit attached to the back of the bulb to keep it cool. Might be a bit tight for space for use in a bike.
Fitted a £30 HID kit from eBay, never had issue and wiring was nice and neat. Ballasts never got hot or failed after 3 years.
There's been a good jump in the tec. Just remember that the regulator will likely need to shead a few of the left over watts..
