Howaye lads, I've been looking for a brake lever guard for a while now. Did a load of research and tried a few. Normally they suffer from three design problems. The first is the blade is positioned straight out from the bar end. This has the potential to catch your hand as is comes off the grip. Second issue is the blade it's self can often be very flimsy. Last but by far the most important issue is how it attaches to the clip-on. Most have a silly expanding plastic bushing. The result is the leaver guard moves when you put pressure on the blade. By far the best one I've seen so far is from a uk based company called Performance Technical. This one is very well priced and ticks all of the boxes above. It grips the inside of the bar with a very well designed expanding alloy bushing and does not budge when pressing on the blade. see pics.…
I tried a few of them. Blades were rubbish and the locking mechanism wasn't much better. The Performance Technical guard was 49 pounds plus shipping. I have absolutely no doubt it will do its job if needed.
