Yeah does seem like it is, I’m doing the trackday on the Thursday so don’t necessarily need the test day
Croft Update: Well after 10mths off the bike and only ever doing a short track day 2 yrs ago Croft was never going to be . But it was all about Mike having track time as well setting the 12 bike up . So we booked the Friday track day and in the first session all was not well with the suspension after making some adjustments Mike went out in the second session .By now the wind was getting really strong lifting the gazebo up and tipping over the tool box as mike was going round the first righthander after the start and finish ( Clervaux ) the wind took the front wheel away it was like slow-motion but the damage was done . Mike sat out 2 sessions but as the day went on we started to make progress with the set up . Come race day Mike qualified in 10th place out of 20ish and finished 9th but the set up wasn`t quite right with the rear .Race 2 saw a red flag and that race was cancelled on Sunday Mike again was 10th on the grid and by the end of the race finished 7th and again some more adjustments were made to the rear .The final race mike finished in 9th position and was happy with the handling but said the front tyre was shot and he wasn`t going to push any harder so we come away happy we had managed to set up the bike and mike had some track time . Next stop Brands hatch for the first round of the Thunder Sport champion on March 30/1st .

Thanks James we had wrecked the tyres on the last race with the track temp going down but mike got a very bad start in the last race lifting the front wheel right up so the commentator said . But it was a good weekend overall I was stood at the exit of the tunnel talking I just turned round and you were in your van driving away a couple of seconds early and I would of shouted to you but its was to late .
Well seemed like you had a great start to the season ! If I manage to either watch or do a round this year we’ll catch up
Yes it was a good start for Mike we had lots of handling issues on the Friday and missed the first the first session due to being 1db over the noise limit . We have a friend who works for a BSB team ( I can`t remember the teams name) he is coming to the next round at Snetterton to help mike with the bike set up so that will save me a job .

Thunder Sport Snetterton Round 2 Friday testing. On Friday with the help of Neil Creswell and my dad we dialled in some settings for both bikes and decided to do a back to back comparison. We went out on the 2012 bike then on the 2013 bike and the choice was easy the 2013 bike suited me far better. With that choice made we then set about doing the laps and making the adjustments and we all worked until the very last session in which I set my fastest lap of the day, probably shouldn’t have pushed so hard given the front tyre was goosed. However, it proved we had a good set up. A massive thanks to my dad and Neil Creswell who worked tireless doing gearing changes, suspension changes (We made a lot) Qualifying. We woke up to a wet circuit, so a quick wheel change and some softer settings dialled in we where ready to go. I went out and started to build up the speed and on lap 3 the rain started to come down, so I knew the window of opportunity was closing so lap 4 I got my head down to see what I could do. The answer was P1 however on lap 5 I lost the front going into Nelson. No real damage other than a foot peg and fairing. Saturday Race 1 We lined up on Pole position dry but cold but on the sighting lap I knew I was in trouble as the rear had lost all temperature and It was like riding on a 50p piece. I knew it was about biding my time. So, taking it steady and not trying to push I found myself losing position after position. On lap 5 I started to feel I had a tyre to work with on the right handers. So, I started to push and get some places back finishing the race in 3rd place so not a bad result. Saturday Race 2 The weather couldn’t have been any worse and I have never ridden in conditions so bad. On the opening lap a rider high sided in front of me so whilst avoiding him the rear of my bike was hit by his bike and I was lucky to stop on. I then chipped away and caught the leading pack up but coming through Nelson I lost the front again and luckily, I managed to get my foot down for a moment to assist the bike and it worked I stopped on. So that was my warnings and I was just happy to bring it home for some points finishing the race in P4 with the fastest lap of the race. Sunday Race 1 Well this was the race in which the conditions where changing by the second before the race even started. I think everyone lined up on wets. After a cautious start I settled down in 5th and that’s how the race finished despite a good last lap battle between 3 of us again nelsons warned me as I light up the rear and lost 3rd place on a now over cooked set of wets. Points in the bag. Sunday Race 2 Well the sun had sort of come out and the track was dry so I wanted to walk away with a podium simply because everyone had worked so hard that I owed them it. So I got a good start and got involved in a battle for 2nd place for about 3/4 laps. Having managed to gap the 3rd place lad I tried to close the gap on the leader but it was literally give and take and I had no answer to him. So second place it was but I was happy. A positive weekend and a massive thank you to the following people. Geoff Coxon Jonathan Metcalfe Neil Creswell Without there dedication things might of been difficult.
