Well in keeping with my plans for a winter revamp of my bike I'm thinking of going race fit for the exhaust ditch the cat as long as it will get through an MOT any advice on this? Do you still need the cat on to get through the MOT? I heard rumours of racefits losing power and it needs a specially tweaked map anybody else hear about this? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
Cat not needed for mot. I can't see any reason for it to lose power if tuned correctly. The quicker exhaust gasses can get out the better Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
You don't need a cat for Mot. But if the law stops you and does an emissions test your get shafted it's not that common on bike bit not unheard of. It's not strictly true about getting gasses out quick. (Unless on a turbo). Im no wiz on this but back pressures has alot to say for. On this subject I think it something like lose alot of low-mid range power to gain on top. Sent from my iPhone
Thanks guys really appreciate your input I had heard that fitting the race fit does lose some power something like 1hp per bend in the pipe that is missing from the standard system. It does look like this system cannot be fitted without the Exup mod being done first anyway it's either that or fork out for a full Termigoni System that I saw on a 675 at brands at the weekend that looked pretty boss too but I think the race fit would really suit the new look of the bike when it happens.
Bikes are only subject to emission laws by a European directive. That dealers have to sell bikes by that standard. Once sold all these regs go out the window. You can make as much power from a standard system. The cat and exh valve are restrictive so will lose some bhp. Removal will lose some Bhopal also unless engine tuning is tweaked to allow for this change. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk

I was wondering how long it would take for my thread to become perverted one ride home from work is the answer lol
Thanks Pete I took your advice and rang racefit this morning spoke to John at Racefit who is a top bloke and will do the full racefit system for me for £600 (he said that was worst case scenario and it could work out a lot cheaper) So I have decided to go with the Race Fit option and will be selling my two Brothers slip on can over the winter at some point once I have taken the bike off the road. The process for fitting the racefit includes modifying the standard header pipes removing the EXUP and Cat plus full titanium pipes and the growler can I can't wait it is going to be immense. They have said they will be at the NEC and have said that anybody from here is welcome to come along for a coffee any time. They also said that they are trying to do more triumphs so Craig might be a job opportunity for you there get the boys on the forum and maybe we can do some group buy discount deals. Goes to show that going to the producer direct can some times be better that a trader who will remain nameless (and no longer trades) who had over inflated the price by an extra £150! Still I am glad that we have great traders on here now! Will post up pics when it is all done and a video so you can hear what it sounds like.
Don't know mate would have to get a custom map done for it will speak to T3 Racing about it and see what they say.
Can't wait if I am honest buddy! Been watching a few clips on YouTube of the inline 4's running them and my god are they beasty I will be really interested to see what triple sounds like running one and I will change my air filter to a performance one to add a bit more grunt to the groan as they say. Seriously looking forward to my winter plans for my bike can't wait to show everybody what it looks like and how it sounds might have to get me some mini cams for the ride back after it's fitted hehe!
Will do buddy they reckon they have it all done in around 6 hours that is including removing the headers doing the exup/cat mod then putting on the new system so it's nice and shiny I can't wait!
