Hi I have managed to acquire a set of Ohlins front fork cartridges. Replacing the internals looks pretty simple from the manual but you need tools. The part numbers are 00797-08 01765-03 01797-07 I don't suppose there are any racers out there or does anyone know anyone in the Hampshire area that might be able to loan tools (as I fancy doing it myself) or even fit them for me. regards Pete Keys
If you get really stuck, MCT do a postal service and they're an authorised Öhlins repairer and distributor. Always good fun doing it yourself though.
Hi - thanks for that. I'd like to get them done over the next couple of weeks for a track day on the 31st so scouting around to see. Postal service is a good idea - thanks.
Its worth also popping down to a trackday as there are suspension guys there and maybe able to fit them for you if you take your forks down........we got my mates r1 fork seals done at oulton
hmm just had a quote for the tools 00797-08 £53.67 plus vat 01765-03 £39.57 plus vat 01797-07 £67.43 plus vat which is £192!! And 3 week delivery I was thinking it might be useful to have the tools in case I wanted to swap the springs in future but its not worth it at that price.
Not sure if this is one of the tools you are after, it allows the top of the cartridge to be tightened on the 30mm kit once the damper rod bolt is fitted. I designed it to slot into 28.5 ID/34 OD tube, see pics. The .igs file can be imported into CAM software (for CNC programming) or loaded into Solidworks/ProE etc. http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k89/markps/sv061.jpg http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k89/markps/sv062.jpg
