Hello everyone, New on here (well have been a member for a little while just not posted lol) I own a standard 2010 675 SE. Had it about a year now and I'm now looking at spending some dough on it. I want to buy the quickshifter in the for sale section at the moment but I'm confused as to what you actually need for the fitment. Some people say "plug and play" others say you need the Arrow Rearsets so I'm just wondering what the score with it is? Will the quickshifter alone be enough to fit or do I need extra parts? Any help will be much appreciated
You do not need to change your rearsets. The only thing you do need if it doesn't come with the quickshifter is a different gear shift rod that will be shorter than the standard rod by the length of the QS. I guess the rod would be different lengths between Arrow rearsets and std rearsets.
As Stu has said. It will be plug and play in the sense that there is no wiring involved, it will just plug straight into the loom. The triumph shift rod their QS's come with have a grove down them to channel the wire. You should just be able to plug in, run the wires down, switch out the shift rod, and away you go.
Thanks a lot guys that's cleared it up for me. I dot think it does come with the shift rod. Do you know where I could source an aftermarket one?
for an aftermarket one, probably best look on hm qs or translogic websites direct and see what you want. personally, ive got a triumphs own qs, its awesome, and have fitted and ridden a blade with the £500 hm seamless quickshiter, very good bit of kit, not worth the extra £300 imo.
Thanks Chris been searching all over the place for one. You can get them from HM but wondered if you or anyone else knew if these will fit with the Triumph QS and Standard rear sets and which size do I need? Cheers!
A lot of the used ones come with the rod if you don't want to muck about Here's one on eBay http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=221733602668
Cheers Ubik I have kinda committed myself to the one in the for sale section so if I can just find out what the shift rod size is for the QS. I've seen 150mm mentioned a lot with a 6mm thread can anyone confirm this?
That's exactly what I need ^^ Do you wish to sell?? If you don't mind taking a size that would be good. Thank you very much for your offer Ubik if I can't source one then I will be in touch
Ok mate. No problem Here's another with rod http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/29142291729...97&ext=29355&srcrot=e11021.m43.l1120&rvr_id=0
It'll be sold with the quick shifter matey but I'll happily measure it for you. Won't be until tea time tho as I'm at bsb in the sunshine hehe
If you could post up a size that would be great. Probably best just give me the overall length. I'm definitely going to have to make my own. my gear shift rod (oo-er) is about a foot long (oo-er) on my new rearsets
