Hi all, I've convinced myself I need some new rearsets for my 2012 daytona 675 and torn between Gilles or light tech. A couple of concerning issues. The Gilles version has a joint in the bar on the gear shift side which may vibrate rattle and affect the quickshifter and the lighttech version needs an attachment on the brake side that needs cutting into the the loom for the rear brake light to work. Any help advice would be great. Cheers.
What about the Arrow ones? I love the Arrows on my track bike, feel tight and when I crashed they didn't bend at all, just replaced the pegs
I think you'll be fine with either. The link in the shifter rod shouldn't be an issue. Use some thread lock should, as its a gum type paste (mine is) is should kill and vibration or looseness affecting the qs. The switch change on the rear brake is a doddle to do. I did mine when I fitted my lsl rearsets. Choose some connectors, I used some inline crimp type (they look like tubes), slip some heat shrink over the cables, feed in the wires and crimp. Slide up heat shrink and shrink it (helps to keep out the wet. If your a little nervous cut the existing cable near the switch that way you have some excess to play with.
I love the triumph arrow rearsets on my road bike, as like says their solid, well made and even with muddy boots still offer loads of grip and bein a triumph official assesory easy straight forward fitting. I use trw's on my race bike but these don't offer the same level of grip as the arrows, tbf fair if a set of arrows came up forsale on here I'd be interested in replacing the trw's
