I've just bought a new steering damper and was hoping to fit it in the standard place underneath where the original was just it's slightly to long and also the bolt hole doesn't line up. What have people fitting and where? Can't find a bracket/fitting kit for

    How about this mate.: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252618448874?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Looks suspiciously similar to my (offensively expensive) Hyperpro mount.

Has it made a noticeable difference? I've had loads of wobble and lost confidence in the bike, took my damper off and there is no resistance at all so that's why I need this

I had the same issue as you but only on track on my 2011 675 R. I fitted a Hyperpro damper and it was night and day. No more tankslappers!

Fwiw I never had any issues with the OE steering damper when road riding. That is despite generally "making fairly spirited progress" and having to cope with lots of poorly maintained rural lanes as well as our potholed general highways.
However I had a few "moments" on track that I was more than fortunate to get away with, and reluctantly decided that a steering damper was going to be cheaper than the inevitable repairs.

Happy to here that, I've only had the bike a few months and everytine I've been out I've had it shit me right up, Never experienced it on my last bike in 3 years. Also got a track day coming up soon so will be good to get it all sorted for that.
