I fitted the techspec protectors yesterday before having a blast out, there are some photo's on 'my gallery'. After riding the bike i found they worked really well my leathers gripped to them really good :D :D . putting them on was so easy too just peel the backing off and away you go, the 2 side protectors are spot on. Now the downside, because the tank curves both ways on the back of the tank no matter which way i put the pad on i cant get the wrinkles out of the rubber as it tries to curve both ways at once. The adhesive backing lets you take it off really easily and try again but after 4 goes i havn't got it right. I have put up with it for now but the jury is out for now on that piece  the 2 side pieces are spot on and they will stay no matter what :D :D .
Overall i am very happy with them if i can just get the small wrinkles out!! :x

With the exchange rate at present they cost about £40 for the 3 pads and no import tax!! took about 10 days

Both Techspec & stompgrip are very good rider aids but aesthetically they just don't
work for me, maybe one day I could get used to em :)

I thought the techspec ones looked ok, but then if everyone thought the same what a dreadful world this would be.

  4. Hi kingfixer are they the high fusion pads ?
I like the look of em !
Is it possible to warm the corners with an hairdryer and pull when applying to stretch the kink out ?
Sorry to sound like a smartarse but I do similar things like that when at the daily grind.

    Hi mate,

I doubt a hairdryer will get them hot enough to curve round the tank. Just a thought but you could try getting down a local car audio specialist, thats specialist, so not Halfords ;) they will have a proper heat gun and in theory someone with the expertise in wrapping sub boxes in all shapes and sizes who might get s spot on fit for you for a couple of cans of beer.

If a jobs worth doing, etc etc, right??

    Cheers

    Steve

Alternatively stick Velcro on your tank and leathers, you and your bike would be well and truly
in touch with one another, until you stop and try to put your feet down oops
