Discussion in 'Bobby Campbell Racing' started by trackdaybob, Oct 11, 2016.

  1. Off to Cadwell then (just for a change) with the Little Shopper Horrors. Last round of the season :(

Practice on Friday then racing Saturday and Sunday ;)

What the hell, I'll stay over Sunday night and do the trackday on Monday too. Be rude not to o_O

I think there's seven CB500's booked in fast group atrackdayriders.co.uk_tdr_forum_smileys_hills.gif

  2. I'll tip my hat if I see you in the paddock. I'll be there on Saturday with the army team and will be picking up my new 675R

  3. Please do.
I'm sited right next to the paddock office. Couldn't believe my luck when I rocked up this afternoon. I was half expecting to be parked way up the back.
Got the test day tomorrow and treating myself to new wets and drys.
    Really looking forward to it.

did they have the "Bob Parking Only" cones and signs out? ;)
The guys in the paddock office must have been waiting for the nod from the gate to make it ready for you when you arrive

  5. We're finally getting a dry line.
So the drys have gone in :)

  6. Wet qualifying this morning. I qualified 22nd from 42. It was a combined qualifying session so I'm 12th on the grid for my first race.
It's drying up now so I've taken the gamble and stuck the dry tyres in ;)

  7. Finished 9th. My fastest lap was on lap 3 (1:48). I then caught up with a group of five who were all in the 49's but couldn't get through them.
Great fun though and looking forward to the next one.

  8. Great second race despite a crap start and was 22nd on the first lap. I battled my way up to 13th, took 8 seconds off my overall race time and managed a 48.3.
Then there was the Military Championship race. I was 19th on the grid. Now there was a couple of other 500's out there but most of the guys were on bigger, more powerful machinery. Still I wasn't last, finishing 21st. I'd managed to shave another 4 seconds off my overall race time. 12 seconds quicker than my first race this morning and a new pb. 1:47.9 :)

Forecast not so good for tomorrow.
I'm 11th on the grid, we'll see how we do.

What's happened to the like button?!? Either way, great showing tdb, sounds like a lot of fun has been had and hope the fierce storms we've had out west this afternoon/evening pass through overnight and you get lots of dry, warm Tarmac to enjoy at Cadwell.

  10. Sorry bud, I never got a chance to pop in today, being busy with the army lot and picking up me new 675R.

I'm guessing you are in the RAF if you were near the paddock office.

  11. All the posh hotels were booked, you know the RAF ;)

  20. Well the 2nd race didn't go well. On dry tyres (the right choice) with a dry line round most of the circuit I tried to carry a little too much speed into the right at the bottom of The Mountain where it was still a little damp. It didn't end well [IMG]

Big thanks to @kit-parts who fixed the bike whilst I bitched and moaned [IMG] And for all his help today.

Bike is all sorted and ready for tomorrow. I have a sore leg so we'll see how we feel.

I was annoyed with myself for making such a simple mistake. I was 9th and had speed over the group up to around 4th at a guess and my excitement got the better of me on the second lap when there would have been plenty time to get through them.

Still I'm sat with a beer and just about to fire up the bbq. It's not really spoiled what has been an epic weekend. I fuckin love racing [IMG]
