My exhaust finally quit.


Replacement sought in the paddock for £60.


So fixed and back out. Been an interesting day for sure. Was in the 58's early on so hopefully a wee bit faster this afternoon and maybe find a little more under race conditions.
One more this afternoon then a quick fettle, get scrutineered then a few beers n bbq methinks

Puts me 32nd on the grid for my first race (A-B) then 23rd on the grid for my last race (B-C).

 

Finished 31st. Best lap 1:55.486.

The pace at the front is 1:48

DNF in last race. The brake pads I'd fitted on Friday afternoon had enough and called time at Goddards on lap 4 (I think)

This was just after Gary Cooper's exhaust blew off and flew past me as I was right up his chuff on entry to Coppice

Thankfully I got it stopped and pulled up at the Marshall's post. After the race, they let me ride it back to the paddock where I bitched and moaned whilst the guys changed the pads. Thanks guys

Also thanks to the Marshall's at Goddards. They had Jelly Babies

To top that, I've just spilled a full bottle of Peroni

 

Two great races today. My brakes worked
Managed to chip some more time off and finished up in the 54's. Given I started around the two minute mark, I'm bloody delighted with that.
The last race particularly was good but unfortunately was red flagged on the penultimate lap. I was 17th from 21st on the grid.
Bloody great weekend.

I took my son to Donny on Saturday. It was his first time at a race meet. When he saw a couple of CB500s he asked me why they don't look like race bikes.

I told him to leave well alone, CB500 riders are a different breed to the rest of us

I can't do Cadwell but if you're racing next season I'll try and find you to say hello.

My son does like the 675s though.
