    Hi All,

Got caught out in the rain yesterday in my dainese suit! Got soaked through, i've left my leathers hung up to dry and gave my base layers a wash in the washing machine to bring them back up nice and fresh.

Has anyone got any pointers about cleaning / protecting / waterproofing leathers so to keep them in tip top condition?

    Cheers

I've tried using products that claim to make leather waterproof, but when you're caught out in a heavy shower it still comes through, so IMHO they don't work unless its a bit of drizzle. Perhaps someone's actually found something that does work though!

However the stuff I use is "Mustang" leather food, works well and you don't need much of it either.

Thanks, i'll have a look at that. NikWax is very local to me so might have a pop up there and see what they do. They've got spray that is supposed to be easy to apply. Just don't want them to end up all cracked and horrible after getting wet. Will be sure to give them some TLC tonight.

  4. I have always used Renapur, has always worked for me, granted not totally waterproof, but keeps my leathers supple.

Bought some Renapur from the Mini show .Works well on Bike leathers ,Hiking boots and last ok.
When my gloves get soaked I dry them on tiop of the zizards cage.
use Baby oil to get them supple again

  6. Dunno what BMW use on their Atlantis suits, but rode for 4 hours in the pissing rain...I was bone dry.

  7. Renapur for me too. Waterproofs leather as well as anything else and brings it back from a good soaking. Best thing I've ever used for it.
