It's that time of year again to start thinking about the forum Trackday. Previous TDs have been held: Cadwell Park Snetterton x 2 Oulton Park The format is generally a meet up for those camping the night before and BBQ, then the TD the next day. We can normally get 10% discount via MSV and No limits but, that will need to be confirmed again when we have numbers and a venue is chosen. This poll is to choose the venue for this year so please vote for your top pick. The poll will run until the end of Jan 2016, once we have a track chosen we can then look at dates at the chosen track. NL normally do a 3day weekend at Snett which might be a good option for a mega TD meet? Vote away peeps. There are only 10 poll options as this is the max allowed but, if we have demand for a track not listed then we can look at that one as well. There is only one answer to this! The best track in the country, most centrally located too. Has to be Donny surely
I'll keep an eye on this as I'm planning a few weeks in the UK this summer with the van / bikes Guess next poll will be for what month?
At the end of the month once the Track is chosen I will look at weekend/Friday dates for the track across the TDO's and then post up 5 or 6 date options in a second and final poll to choose when, that one will be with the roll call for who is going/wants to go and then at the same time I can contact TDO's and ask for discount.
Can't wait to give the track a go. I only passed about 3 months ago hence why I have not already anyone in the Surrey area Woking/Guildford?
Lots of votes for Donnington, but you can't camp there for a track day, so we would have to do hotels or something if we wanted to socialise in the evening Also Donny has very few weekend dates, plus can be very expensive unless everyone would be able to get in on a quiet day. Snett, Cadwell and Anglesey all have camping. Brands doesn't. Snett and Cadwell are comparatively cheap and usually loads of dates available. Anglesey is brill but for most a bit of a trek adding to the cost
From that aspect Cadwell has to be a strong contender.? It's got my vote anyway, because I love the circuit & haven't ridden there for a couple of years now. The voting system doesn't offer a second choice, but if it did then I'd opt for Donnington because we haven't done a forum trackday there in recent history, & it's fairly geographically central (so we'll all need to make a similarly long haul).
Changed my vote in light of this looking like a weekend date and lack of camping at donny - think camping would be fun/keep the cost down and certain tracks haven't been visited yet, but offer a cracking journey just to get there. And I'm already planning a trip to Oulton on the 13th May...
