Probably not the best place to ask seeing as it’s a 675 forum, but I’m considering a litre bike if the worst comes to the worst with mine.

I would have a budget of around 6-8k. Might be able to squeeze a bit more out.

It has to be good looking, obviously, and low mileage (no more than 2-3k).

(I've seen a ZX10R with 900 miles otc going for around 9k but its in green and that’s a major no no - white would also not be a consideration.)

I can't think of any more requirements so fire away if you can. Open to anything really.

    Cheers

  2. Honda Sp1 / Sp2 - some low mileage one's about as I bought this last year a few k on the clock

  4. 8k would be a hell of a deposit on a 1299 base

At a guess you would be looking at about £50 -70 per month after that. Pick what you like look of and go try them as they all have their own character or complete lack of in some cases.

Get an old Fireblade, like 23 Dark or that mate of Iceman's : https://www.675.cc/675/posts/369661/

You can spend a lot less than £6-8k & still get a cracking bike (as long as you're happy to get a slightly older version)

  8. There's a 2014 ex demo R1 with less than 600 miles being listed locally for £8k (NZ$17.5k). That's good money imo. Would imagine you could get one even cheaper Red.

The SP2 is a cracking bike but Blade on Tankslap has spent a fortune on his getting it to handle well

My fireblade is mega. Just had the big service valves etc. And new chain. Plus as it's a bit older I don't worry about parking it up anywhere.

My first response to thread title was hope you're not leaving.

Now read to the end. :( You can't let the bastards win. You've got to see it through to the end or you'll have problems getting insurance ever more.
Here's hoping you end up with 3 or 4 grand plus your bike back as is.
If you're willing to stick it out there's someone in our club who's job is ins claims I can try and bend his ear? Might see him Thursday night.
