Good evening, I'm wondering if anyone in the east anglian area has any idea how to use this software to achieve a decent settlng rather than going down the dyno power commander route. Would be more than happy to come to you and pay for your time/experience.

Spanners I can wield, electronics are a bit of a dark art to me but computers are way beyond my capabilities!

You'll never get a correct setup by playing with the numbers.

Only a dyno will truly sort any issues out.

You could try custom maps though these can be risky due to the fact they were setup on a different bike.

What have you done to your bike in terms of upgrades to warrant a play with tuneecu?

    Hi Stephen

Currently running an Akrapovic slip on with the larger diameter link pipe and MWR race filter. Planning on de cat headers before she comes back out to play in the spring.

I'm still very new to the Daytona so any advice on how to achieve the best set up is greatly appreciated. It's my road bike so a bit of a princess and I'm not looking for big power gains I'd just like it to run as well as possible however coming from a big twin and a race tuned 600IL4 it feels silky smooth already but always room for improvement.

You should be alright with running an aftermarket tune from the tuneecu site.

But once you do the decat you'll most certainly need a proper dyno to get the most out of it.

Thanks that's great information. I'm very fortunate to have Track electronics just around the corner from me so I'll book it in there once I've fitted the de cat link pipe.

Yep know it well, less than an hour riding between us then will be nice to meet up in the spring. What do you ride mate? I've got a 2010 SE called Tina Tona as she's a stiletto wearing Essex girl from a dealer in Grays;)

Hahaha, I'm on a 2012 black and gold Daytona myself so once the roads dry out and it doesn't get dark at 4 I'll be back out riding again

  11. Hi @Badapple, I’m in Letchworth so reasonably close. There’s some good routes around your area I plan on exploring - see the post here:

I’ve tried getting TuneECU to work but having no luck at all (running Windows 10 but just can’t get it to connect after hours of following various instructions).

Would be great to do a meet up once I’m on the road and we get a good weather day (hopefully on the road after this Thurs). I’m a brand newbie so lots to learn by me!

    Cheers
    Baz

Hi Baz, certainly well up for a meet love talking and riding with guys and girls on similar machines been a bit quiet since getting the triple due to the time of year but as soon as the sun's back I'd love to catch up with a few fellow members.

Found it's easier to get tuneecu to work on an Android tablet. Picked one up off eBay cheap, toss in the cable and app and it's a bargain.

Mate I can barely use a phone let alone start pissing around with my pride and joys brain guarantee to make things far worse hense asking for some advice. I'd happily trundle down to you if you know what you are doing. From what I gather a decent map can be found using the tune ecu but perhaps a custom Dyno session is the bells and whistles solution???

Can easily stick a map on your bike no problem but a custom dyno would be the absolute best solution.

Worth keeping in mind if you didn't know already that some tuners can remap with tune ecu on a dyno so you don't have to go the power commander route, Simon at uk race support can sort both decating the headers and dyno session using tune ecu

The guys at T3 also use tuneecu to map as well
