Just took the Daytona out for a bumble in advance of a big ride tomorrow. Got back and saw coolant pissing out the bottom. I've narrowed it down to this pipe. It seems to be running down this pipe so I need to know how to get to it? Cheers.
Found it. The pipe I'm pointing at has split at the back vertically. Is there a quick fix I can do to get me home? Cheers.
Stick some tape around it? Not ideal but if it's a short trip and the leak isn't big. Though I'd just call recovery and have them give you a lift home.
Bodged it with some duct tape, a jubilee clip and some tie wraps to kept it out of the sprocket. Couldn't refit the cover so hence the tie wraps. Anyone know if it's a big job to replace the hose?
The dealer replaced mine when I managed to split it so no idea on how hard it is to change but I didn’t get a massive bill so it can’t of been that hard!
It's a tank off job as that hose goes up and under there. Bit fiddly cause it's under all the wires. Other issue is you're gonna have to drain the coolant too as it's also the lowest point at the other end so it'll piss out there. If you're replacing one hose and draining coolant maybe upgrade the hoses all round?
Was it definitely split and not worn through by the chain or trapped under the cover, can be tricky to get all the hoses located properly in the sprocket cover.
Definitely split, no signs of wearing or chafing. Kind of odd really if that pipe is not under much coolant pressure!?
Mine did that approaching a chicane at 130mph? Thought it might be oil all over my boot...managed to straight line it through and stop safely...replaced all coolant hoses for silicon as I thought the problem might be rubber degradation...yes it is a ball aching job, tank off and a proper dig down to reach all hoses. There are 2 cables running along side which can rub on the sprocket assy...I re-routed mine on the outside of the sprocket cover to make sure.
World of triumph have them from memory about £12. It’s a pre shaped hose. Tank up and propped up is enough. A bit of a bugger to get into but get replacement hose clips for it too and coolant to top up. The sprocket cover has a bit the hose clips into to keep it away from the chain as I found out after having the cover off to clean it. Shit design but doable to change on your own.

Have you changed/removed the sprocket cover recently ? This is very easy thing to get wrong on this model first hand experience.
I have yes, but I always ensure the the pipe and two wires are sat in the groove in the sprocket cover correctly. Bit of a bugger sometimes but it's critical to get it right. Still not sure why it split. The hoses on my ST are older and done way more miles and seem ok?
The replacement hose and clips have arrived from Fowler's. Once fitted is their a correct way to refill the cooling system to avoid air locks? It's drained at the moment. Got 3 litres of premixed HOAT coolant coming from Triumph Thanks.
Fill it at the radiator end and to the minimum line in the overflow bottle Pop the cap off and give the bike a little rock from side to side. Also squeeze the hoses a tiny bit to help coax the air out. It'll rise to the top anyway. Then repeat, run the bike for a little bit, just to get the pump to push the coolant round. Then pop the cap to burp the system. Then refill as needed. If you're still worried you can leave the cap off at night to allow any excess air out but after doing what I've said you shouldn't have an issue.
