Daytona 675 (2006)
Information
First announced at the NEC International Motorcycle and Scooter Show late 2005 the Daytona 675 would soon place Triumph straight back into the competitive sportsbike market.
» Bike magazine remarked in their review of the Daytona 675 “the best British sportsbike ever” and “possibly one of the greatest sportsbikes of all time”.
» Motorcycle News stated “The Triumph Daytona 675 has put Hinckley firm back on the shortlist of many UK sports motorcycle riders, who previously rated the 600 and 650 Daytona models as being OK, but no real alternative to a Japanese four cylinder 600cc sportbikes. Silky, compact handling, allied to kick-ass engine power and a howling exhaust note, make the Triumph Daytona 675 a real winner on the road, or track.”
» Triumph described the 2006 Daytona 675 as “Inimitable, spine-tingling sound and feel. Incredible performance with its exciting, powerful engine and intuitive, razor-sharp chassis. Very few motorcycles can be seen as mould-breaking but the Daytona 675 Triple is definitely one of them.”

On the 31st of May 2006 magazines around the world sent their fastest rider to test each bike in the class. The Daytona 675 came top in each of the scoring categories. This included the fastest lap time where the Daytona 675’s average lap was 0.5 seconds faster than any of the competition.
The top three winners were:
