Day two and three have been fabulous. The sun shone and the roads here are perfect. I can't rate the tarmac highly enough. There don't appear to be any Polis once you get away from the towns either...though no doubt I've cursed us now! The only disaster was tucking €100 in the back of my cigarette box...then binning it once empty. Hey ho! Everywhere we stop for a drink the locals are friendly and helpful...as I have found wherever I've travelled in Europe. The bikes have both ran like a dream and never missed a beat. Jens back tyre is squarer than my dad, dancing...but please don't tell her or she'll want a new one.. Currently in Baeza, having stayed in Almagro yesterday. I can't rate the paradors highly enough. Beautiful buildings and fabulous rooms. Off for a dip in the pool...hopefully @Captain Steffydog will be along to post pics shortly! Cheers Steffy.

It is great to hear you guys are having an awesome time. Went out for my weekly Saturday ride today to recon some new roads. Weather is perfect if not a little chilly at 20c in the mountain sections :)

The ride to Ronda was easy enough. I'll get SteffyDog to post the route but suffice to say the roads down here are awesome. I'm done with flying and being subject to brutal, G4S cavity searches! Ride there and live the dream. 140km/h seems to be an acceptable speed here without too many dramas. The reality is the curves prevent much more in many places but the tarmac is great and because the road signs are accurate and predictable, it's not often you get caught out. There is very, very little traffic on the roads. We have cogged on, pottered in parts, overtaken lots and let people by. Standard of driving is good...but once you get into the towns it's more of a freeforall! I'd recommend this part of the world to anyone. And the parador hotels. Room is awesome, building great and locations position a1. Happy times. If anyone in Ronda is reading this and happens to have an er6f n/s wing mirror...please speak up! If anyone is interested google the Ronda parador....right on the edge of the gorge and it's a long way down. Off to find another beer...

Even better route! Fuente palmera down to Ecija and Osuna is great. When heading south keep an eye out for a bright light to your right (west). It's the Gema Solar station. If you have some spare time check it out

No WiFi yesterday...or at least none I could connect to. I'll post routes and pics shortly via @SteffyDog, who is doing a grand job.. Though the run up to Guadalupe wasa long one the roads and scenery were fabulous. The ex-322 is without doubt the best road I have ever ridden. Hot tarmac, great views, epic corners which went on forever and literally no traffic. Has Spain been subject to zombie attack and the people are all lurking under the bridges? I just can't believe how empty and devoid of people Spain is. I didn't see the solar plant as my eyes were out on stalks looking at the road...no place for an accident...very remote and lord knows how you get an ambulance ! The bike has now gone 1500 miles with no chain lube. For a country of bikers, bike shops are hard to find! Tomorrow we won't turn a wheel til we find some. Emma-Lous kindness on the spray front has brought us this far. Stayed in the old monastry in Guadalupe last night. Lovely building and €67! Just landed in Zamora after five hours. Beer in hand. Sun shining. What's not to like? Happy days. Bike has been faultless...still not used any oil and though it boils off lots of heat, it doesn't get near the top of the temp scale. If anyone is thinking about coming to Spain on the bike...just do it. Find a hilly bit and it'll be all good. No Police that we have seen outside of towns but lots of opportunities to press on. It's been easy to get around and make yourself understood. As importantly there are petrol stations everywhere. We pulled over at a tiny, rural one and next thing the place was full of Aston Martins as the owners club filled up and blew through! Happy days. Biking....for winners!

Zamora is a great place. I've taken Jen on a walking tour of the cultural sites and lo and behold found a great tool shop in which to buy chain lube! How much happier can a man be? Heading to the ferry tomorrow for a late sailing. Why weren't we born into money...
